Since Journey into Nyx was spoiled, I have been wondering what the BEST deck with 4x Dakra Mystic in it would be. I thought through the obvious Mystic/Master of the Feast/Notion Thief deck, and it seemed too fragile to me. It is attractive to totally break Mystic with trickiness, but I really don't like the idea of mainboard Notion Thief (yuck) or casting Master of the Feast in a non-aggressive shell without a Thief on board (super yuck). It occurred to me that there is a more straightforward approach: maximize Mystic's ability by having hand information. If you know your opponent's hand, then you can make the right call with the ability. Then it hit me: Brain Maggot is like Thoughtseize 5-8 for the deck. Strong early plays in the form of Thoughtseize and Brain Maggot also protect a solid early threat: Ashiok.

This list removes direct card advantage like Opportunity and Font of Fortunes and lets Dakra Mystic and Jace take care of it. It loses Hero's Downfall in favor of more turn 2 plays, especially Syncopate to protect against early Walkers and enchantments. The deck still looks very soft to turn 2 Domri on the draw, so maybe Downfall will have to go back in.
