Sideboard

blue black control with Kefnet the Mindful and Jace, Cunning Castaway as finishers.(and torrential gearhulks)

Bontu's Last Reckoning does a great job clearing board at the expense of not untapping our lands. this is one of the only mainboard answers to carnage tyrant.Yahenni's Expertise does a similar function while also allowing us to drop out our Kefnet the Mindful or our Jace, Cunning Castaway. removal is rounded out with the obvious busted black removal of Fatal Push Walk the Plank and Vraska's Contempt.

counters include Censor for the reason people dont play around it to much and cycling for 1 blue is pretty good for fixing our hand a little.Supreme Will has the funtion of countering fairly well and being able to dig and can be replayed with Torrential Gearhulk. One Spell Swindle mainboard for its use in making treasures and feeding our Pull from Tommorrow.

draw spells include hieroglyph illumination for recasting with gearhulk and the cycling, Pull from Tommorrow for lategame big draw, Glimmer of Genius for being a good draw spell and working great with Torrential Gearhulk as well. Draw is rounded out with 3 opts and the kefnet's ability. Search for Azcanta   acts as a pseudo draw until the flip witch works great for latergame end of turn digging or reactive digging for answers.

land base is fine so far in my playtesting. Thaumatic Compass   is good land fixing and a Maze of Ith as we need it to be lategame.

Sideboard- bontu's is good when it is good, disallow for straight answer and countering abilities, duress for catching big spells and planeswalkers or enchantments as needed, fatal push is good when walk the plank is less good (walk the plank is almost a dead card vs merfolk), harsh scrutiny and lost legacy both serve the same purpose of taking out hard to deal with creatures (especially Carnage Tyrant. in control matchups i would take out kill spells for counters in the form of Negate Spell Pierce and Disallow. Walk the Plank would go in post against a more aggro deck taking out a censor or put in instead of a fatal push in midrange matchups.
