Trying my hand at Dimir for Standard. Hoping to take it to FNM.
Ideas::
Agent of the Fates
- My main creature control card. Summon him and cast stuff on him. Simples!
Mizzium Skin - Target the
Agent of the Fates
to keep him alive againts a spell. Causing the opponent to sac a creature, - Target the AEtherling to give hexproof with out stopping his attack, also means i can give another +1/-1 to AEtherling
AEtherling - Big creature to be a wincon. hard to remove, self protection, self buff, self avoidance. Perfect!
Bident of Thassa - With any luck, the opponent has nothing to block with, so having this on the field and hitting him gives me the card draw I need.
Desecration Demon - Give them a tough choise, Sac MORE creatures, or have a big flying creature hitting their face. another wincon.
Dissolve
- Counter + Scry, helps with early game control.
Duress - Early game 1 drop annoying spell/enchantment removal, can be used to remove weapons or pesky token generation card ... I'm looking at you Assemble the Legion
Far//Away - double sac, Target your own
Agent of the Fates
with Far to make them sac a creature (and/or save your creatures) - Target your opponent with Away for more sac. 2 sac for 1 card!
Hidden Strings Cast every turn on your
Agent of the Fates
lots of Sac, Pseudo Vigilance. Putting this on an unblockable AEtherling means your Desecration Demon needs to be sacrificed to to attack and to block.
Omenspeaker
- Early game blocker that helps me sort out bad draws. Scry is awesome! - can be bounced with Far//Away for even more Scry.
Ordeal of Thassa
- Target any of your big hitters to make them bigger. Or target your
Agent of the Fates
to force more sacrifice + hopefully they will have no creatures so your free to attack, make your death toucher even bigger. - Card draw is awesome too, Cast on already beefed up D.Daemon for instant gratification.
Read the Bones - Scry + card draw - 2life.. keeps card draw happening early game before you get to your main rotation. normally worth the two life...
Whip of Erebos - Life link + get stuff out of graveyards.. helps if you have gotten low on health at the start of game. allows you to get something out of the grave yard for one final hit. (good card, but I'm worried it does not fit so well...)
Just built the Side board to try and counter some of the things i fear most... Tokens... too many things to sacrifice. More spell based control. + a bit of anti Mill. - Might need to add some planes walker hate, Pithing Needle? - Hero's Downfall? - maybe some anti aggro... Suggestions welcomed!
