Morbid Curiosity once Kaladesh comes around?

"Look at what I just top-decked! Now I will pay 3 to sac my Haunted Dead... It resolves? Now I draw 4 cards..."

I'm totally having problems in dealing in decks with board wipes. So i think, with the addition of Smuggler's Copter and Lost Legacy, i can have a chance against this type of decks.

Going to try out Key to the City for added zombie aggro beats on Friday. I don't know that I run more than 1.

ShapoopyThanks man! Im updating btw. I found that Morbid Curiosity is useless in this deck. Its been a dead card last FNM.

If you're looking for more creative ways to get Haunted Dead into and out of your graveyard, you can try playing Gisa and Geralf. That's what I do in my Undead deck.

Also, Collective Brutality is nice for the "discard" and madness combos, but you may find you enjoy Sinister Concoction more for removal. It's super cheap too.

id like to choose which card im discarding. Imagine milling liliana, wharf and any other spell.:P. Thats the reason why i dont use gisa and geralf or any cards that has a milling ability. I do mill with liliana but only in emergancy.

I like what you've got going here ... I've borrowed a couple ideas to make my zombies better, so +1 from me =)

I've noticed the times I've played Dark Salvation that I'm dropping 7 mana just to get three zombie tokens which has been a bit frustrating. From Under the Floorboards gets you the same number of zombies for only 5 mana (5 zombies using the madness costs for the same price as Dark Salvation). The -x/-x would be better if you could, again, spend more mana ... but Grasp does a much better job of getting rid of creatures IMO (which you already have in this deck). Gisa's Bidding is another option for zombie tokens.

How has Dark Salvation worked for you so far?

Thank you Obial for the upvote and for the comment.:)

Well, Dark Salvation worked fine for me so far. There was an instance mid game that i only have 2 of it in hand and my opponent casts Transgress the Mind and he can't exile one of them lol. There's also this instance that i played against spirit deck and kept on Spell Quellering my grasp of darkness so when i cast dark salvation for , the 3rd queller can't counter it and made me do a chain of killing them spirits. I love that card. It's a 2 for 1 card. Good against aggro to control. It can kill and at the same time, it can generate zombies or both!.:D. Also, works fine with Kalitas, Traitor of Ghet and Liliana, the Last Hope's ultimate.:)

I did use the Gisa's Bidding\From Under the Floorboards woth Wharf Infiltrator. The deck is fast but is weak vs decks with board wipe. Too bad they're not instant cards and Torrential Gearhulk can't recast them. Also, they're just good for generating zombies and that's it.

Maybe i'll consider putting in 2 From Under the Floorboards since i have both wharf and copter.:).

I appreciate your suggestions man.:)

I figured there were good reasons for keeping Dark Salvation over the others ... just hadn't run in to any of them myself yet, so I appreciate your feedback there: very valid points!

I'm a frequenter of using Transgress the Mind so I'm a little embarrassed I didn't think of that practical reason myself haha

Keep it up!

The only blue spell you can, but do not want to cast, is Prized Amalgam. I don't think B/U is the way to go for Zombies anymore, I'd rather look towards the other colors for this deck. It's pretty meta to run Red now to play with Madness and Discard, and it makes a lot of sense here as well.

Was honestly thinking about that but since i can always put in Wharf Infiltrator and some counter spells, i still stay as dimir.

This deck looks awesome. But is it worth playing Scrapheap Scrounger?

November 13, 2016 6:52 a.m.

clark1424 says... #18

Yes OFC!.=). Just exile creatures like cryptbreaker or anyone if you are going for the kill in your next turn. They can also trigger Prized Amalgam just like Haunted Dead or Relentless Dead. Catch your opponent with surprise and poof... you win.=)

gamer.ray Oh ok, thanks!

Ackemdeil thank you for the upvote!

Haunted Dead beacause of combat tricks like:

  1. When your opponent attacks, you can recur haunted dead and block with the spirit

  2. If you have Smuggler's Copter in the battlefield, you can use the spirit for crewing

  3. Discard Voldaren Pariah  Flip and pay madness... then transform if you have enough creatures

  4. As what gamer.ray said; for westvale abbey

Beautiful deck my friend definitely gave me a lot to think about there are obviously a of BA blue zombies I've not Just not been having any luck with multi color lately takes a lot of the math work and stress away I know what land I'll pull. Plus my goal since I started playing magic has been to make a dominant mono black.but it looks like you got it down pat.My only 2 cents would be maybe Corpse Churn and Macabre Waltz to combo the madness maybe even Sanitarium Skeleton just because I feel like in that deck you could cycle the hell out of it. But like they say if it ain't broke don't fix it. You've given me a lot to think about much appreciated

AthestAbashi actually another BU zombie deck joined a major event here and won the first place with a prize of $1000. Well, it pissed me off actually since people were looking to compete for decks like Flash, vehicles and the likes... and now, i'm in the radar lol.

Well, for Corpse Churn, i actually thought about it but since i can always play Liliana, the Last Hope, she's already a permanent with a built in churn.

As for Macabre Waltz, I'd like to add it if I'm playing more madness in my deck. But since Voldaren Pariah  Flip is the only card with madness here, i don't think i can maximize the card.

Actually, dual color is quite simple. Just go get some dual lands and you're set.:).

I'm glad to know that i my list helped you for some more idea. You can also do zombies. Its a lot faster than this. I jist dont want to get rid of negate that's why i stick with this color.:)

My advice for you is not to think of zombies too much and do think of an ability you wish to stick into like in zombies, recursion.

I actually like to add Relentless Dead here again but i don't it's a good idea against faster decks.
