Hi all, this is my first deck posted here on Tappedout.net. I'm big on homebrews and Dimir has been my guild of choice since I started playing.
This deck cashes in on the combo of Dictate of Kruphix
+
Master of the Feast
+
Notion Thief
to generate huge card advantage to overtake the game. There's plenty of spot removal with Doom Blade and my very favorite
Far / Away
which is important for it's utility and the ability to interact with those annoying Hexproof decks.
Early game, the plan is to drop
Murmuring Phantasm
and
Omenspeaker
to soak up any early aggro while smoothing out my draws with Scrying and keeping my removal open for bigger threats. Midgame I enjoy card advantage with the combo pieces and hope to land an early Ashiok to add to my board presence. Desecration Demon is a friend to no one and offers a huge threat which comboed with removal has my opponents on a short clock.
The question I have is whether to splash Green for more BUG control. It's not hard to imagine Vraska getting to her ultimate with this deck. I did find that once I was drawing several cards on my turn and my opponents, that I just didn't have enough mana to play it all! That's why I'm considering Prophet of Kruphix. The Temples of Malady are there mostly for the scry, but between them and the Temples of Mystery, it'd be easy to get some Green in there.
Thanks for checking out my deck and for any suggestions you all may have!
I'm looking for feedback on better removal and threats. Like, is Murmuring Phantasm worth a four of, or can I pack some more threats in there? And Doom Blade is my go-to cheap removal since it hits 80% of creatures, but there's nothing worse than ending up with a grip full of dead cards. I'm thinking of pulling one of the Ashioks for Vraska, since her -3 is great in a pinch. And would Gaze of Granite be SB material? It'd be nice to have a board sweeper besides Cyclonic Rift.
