Nice job on the curve ;) I think I'd switch one Unclaimed Territory with one Sunpetal Grove or Plains probably. 3x plain land access feels just a little light. Especially after game 1 when heavier white comes in. Feels like by the time Territory is used the mana is set up already? Idk. Unless there was more weenie dinos I'd go with more basics. How has the mana been when white is needed in a pinch?

Thoughts on the new Huatli, Ghalta, Zacama and Raging Regisaur?

+1, I'm really interested in playing this deck, would like to see an RIX update once spoilers are complete.

npdefeo thanks for the upvote! Im experimenting with the Elder Dinos, so far thinking Ghalta will be a solid addition as can be cast as early as T4, its safe against Harnessed Lightning and Confiscation Coup. Well see...

I've been using this deck with a few modifications on MTG Arena. I've had a lot of success with it. Fun deck.

npdefeo Yeah Id say so. The framework is their but it needs a lot of polish. Hopefully they put the time and money into it and dont abandon it after a little while.

You should consider running Fling if you're running Ghalta. It's almost always an instant win if it resolves.

Jimmy you still playing this deck? Have you thought about adding Llanowar Elves replacing Drover? Llanowar can be a turn faster. Elfhame Druid with Territorial Allosaurus and Grow from the Ashes also seems interesting. I know you like Elfhame this could a place for her. Due to the current Standard meta Thrashing Brontodon is a much better three drop Dino than Raptors. Great defense against aggro, can destroy one of Heart, History, Seal, Binding or Ballista. Playing Dinos, 4x Brontodon main deck seems very good.

Find a spot for Helm of the Host. It could combo well in this deck.

regisaur alpha and Etali, Primal Storm are prime subjects for dawning the helm. If Regisaur wears it, you'll get it AND another trample dinosaur each turn. They'll both have haste! With a Forerunner of the Empire on the battlefield, you could either put the helm on another dragon and chip away at the opponent each turn OR, if you know you'll be playing dinosaurs, you can put the helm on Forerunner and deal more and more damage each turn.

Deathgorge Scavenger would give you consistant life gain, but that's not quiet as good. If you have a Regisaur on the battlfield, you could opt to give each new Deathgore +1/+1 and swing with haste, but... why would you not put Helm on Regisaur???

Rhonas the Indomitable would LOVE the helm! The second Rhonas will activate the first Rhonas and they can buff each other!

While equiping Otepec Huntmaster and Kinjalli's Caller would theoretically make dropping big bombs gradually easier, this is a silly idea. The helm requires almost as much mana as your bombs anyway. By the time these combos would be up and running, you would have a dinosaur on the battlefield who is a better target for the helm. These combos might do well in a commander deck though. Your commander tax wouldn't matter!

What about the Polyraptor Forerunner of the Empire combo?

August 6, 2018 6:38 a.m.

munky702 it’s a cool combo but the deck has to be more built around it. Only concern is that you could end up with a handful of expensive creatures and never get combo off, so in this frame it kind of just builds inevitably following the natural curve. I may reconsider it, thanks for feedback!

Hey, recently Dinos have morphed into a strategy around Sarkhan's Unsealing. Combining Dino tribal (Alpha) with Unsealing and other powerful creatures to trigger Unsealing such as Steel Leaf Champion.

The two best Dinos (Ghalta and Tyrant) are nuts with Unsealing because they have 7+ power can trigger it's second ability wrecking your opponent. Especially Ghalta, who can be cast for only two mana making Unsealing a busted Magic card. I like this strategy a lot for post rotation. One problem is Gruul is not a guild in Guilds of Ravnica, the dual land situation may be difficult.

The problem with Dinos is if you don't get the perfect curve then as a midrange strategy it just falls flat. Unsealing adds another direction and gives you a lot of reach with Dinos. Unsealing triggers on cast and the 4 damage can be to any target including a Planeswalker making it good in all matchups including control matchups. Unsealing also stacks if you have two of them in your control then you're doing 8 damage instead of 4 when you cast a Dino. Consider Unsealing?

Im currently using this deck in FNM, would cards like Nature's Way, Larger Than Life, Prey Upon or Titanic Growth be useful ? and if so what would you take out to replace for them?

November 14, 2018 4:48 p.m.

Trinidad868 only the latter 2 are legal in Standard currently, but if wanting more fight effects you could increase Stomp and add Prey Upon. Pounce is an instant version and is budget, but adding in Lightning Strike probably more useful. If adding more removal, I’d probably trim the top end stuff. A lot of the tweaking depends on what people playing at your LGS, there are Dinos for every situation!

Cool infinite combo by Bad Boy Gaming On YouTube, it involves Assure / Assemble, Forerunner of the Empire and Polyraptor. How it works is after u get Forerunner of the empire out, you play assure on it, giving it indestructible. You then play Polyraptor and have Forerunner deal 1 damage to it and have it create a copy and then deal another damage to both and so on and so forth it would be cool combo in your deck if you want to add it :)
