This is my attempt at the perfect MTG Dinosaur deck: a deck where both playability and flavor prevail.

THE STORY:

A handful of elves jumped to the plane that Earth inhabited and discovered the dinosaurs on the eve of their extinction. Realizing the overall bad-assery of dinosaurs, they got together their greatest minds and took an entire continent from Earth back to their own plane, where they could use dinos to fight other people for no particular reason.

THE GAMEPLAY:

There are three areas of focus in the deck: land gain, big-body dinos, and graveyard retrieval. Once your beefy dinos are in place, call upon the power of the Cretaceous apocalypse with Starstorm or Comet Storm to make their weak non-dinos extinct. In case history repeats itself and the dinos all die too, you can dig'em up with Fossil Find, Evolution Charm, or hatch a new one with Triassic Egg.

THE SIDEBOARD

Turns out, dinosuars are weak to a few things besides cataclysmic astrological events. For example, they are easily Pacified or sent to Oblivion. As long as you have Khans of Tarkir artwork, Naturalize pesky enchantments. Sometimes, other non-dino creatures think they can be big like an allosaurus. Show them what's up with Shivan Meteor, or resort to good old predatory violence with Dismember; Urborg Volcano splashes black with the Birds of Paradise to help with that. When someone thinks their spells are too clever for dinos, Mindclaw Shaman proves dinosaurs can learn a few other tricks besides operating door handles.
