Next, we have the middle-curve creatures. In the four-drop slot I included
Forerunner of the Empire
,
Ripjaw Raptor
, and card:Territorial Alloaurus. I don't have any three-drop creatures mainboard, since I almost always have 4-6 mana by turn 3, and
Marauding Raptor
is often a better follow up to
Llanowar Elves
since it can play a
Drover of the Mighty
on the same turn and/or a
Regisaur Alpha
the following turn. Anyway, back to the four-drops.
Forerunner of the Empire
is a very good card in this deck. It can tutor for any dinosaur, whether it be
Regisaur Alpha
for value or to try to push through twelve haste damage with card:Ghalta, the Primal Hunger,
Thundering Spineback
for a board stall, or anything else. It can even find
Polyraptor
, creates 8 5/5's when you have both.
Polyraptor
also creates a truly infinite loop with card:Marauding Raptors since neither trigger says "may." I'm not quite sure, but in paper magic, I think this loops to a draw. But when you have all three of these guys, you'll create 63 5/5's. Next in the four drop slot we have
Territorial Allosaurus
. Originally, I had more
Savage Stomp
s and less of this guy, but more creatures are better for
Marauding Raptor
, and I can usually kick him by turn 3 or 4. The one issue with
Territorial Allosaurus
and
Marauding Raptor
is that the Allosaurus often does because of the extra damage. I may swap this for more
Savage Stomp
s or something else entirely. next in the four-drop slot I have
Ripjaw Raptor
. This card draws me cards and combos well with
Marauding Raptor
. I may want more of this card or maybe just more creatures with enrage.
Another of my mid-game dinos is
Regisaur Alpha
. This card is just good value and will almost always allow me to play out a
Ghalta, Primal Hunger
the following turn. It also gives haste to my dinosaurs, which is most important when I can give haste to
Ghalta, Primal Hunger
or my
Polyraptor
combo.
