Dirty Dimir, Doing Dirty Dimir Things

Standard Cruel Control Discard Mill UB (Dimir)

BlazzedTroll

Dimir deck. Cipher/Mill

A new deck I'm going to finish building. I have at least 1 of every card in this deck now and I'm going to get rid of my fillers and try to finish this deck. Sideboard may be coming soon.

This is a Mill Deck that has a strong creature front and enough control to actually mill someone out. In past mill decks finishing my opponent was always hard, especially against aggro decks or really fast decks.

All cards in this deck work great together. The mana curve is heavy on 2. The first turn is very weak, there aren't many drops for 1 that are made for the first turn. The idea is that there are so many shock lands, the first turn is probably nothing. The second turn I may get a basic land or I may pay a shock cost. Almost every card is Black/Blue together. This makes fitting all the Standard shock lands in a must. Nykthos, is a great land because every card is going to have at least 1 of a certain land. By turn 4 or 5 I should have 4 devotion of any one color and be able to use it's secondary ability rather than just being a colorless, which is admittedly weak for this deck due to multiple blue black cards and abilities.

Rogue's Passage is a staple to this deck. Having a land with the ability to generate unblockable is a strategy most decks are prepared to deal with. Once I have Cipher on a creature or Mirko Vosk, Mind Drinker either using this land or a combo of Aqueous Form or Death's Approach should render the opponent defenseless and open.

Chronic Flooding is crazy strong early game. Playing this on turn 2 or 3 sets your opponent back a turn or forces them to lose cards fast.

Ashiok, Nightmare Weaver and Jace, Memory Adept are extremely powerful. Ashiok doesn't really stack well with some of the graveyard mechanics but the ability to play my opponents cards is strong enough. Especially out of fast decks or against other mill decks with cheap costs. Jace +0 a couple turns along with the normal amount of mill is an easy victory. If I'm low on cards his +1 is also quite strong.

Overall this deck has a very strong output, updates with more play testing and construction.
