Good thing is that we will be getting a scry land for RB with Born of the Gods!
I do agree that with Lilly we can manage doing 21 lands, I am just paranoid with getting a hand with 2 mutavaults and 1 swamp... that just makes me cry :C

Sorry about the double post... no idea how to edit!
What would you call a "good hand" with this deck? That hand that makes you go all "mmmmm bacon" kinda way?

The Anger of the Gods was great against aggro or decks that rely on lots of creature based ramp. I did win a few matches as a direct result of killing multiple creatures with it.
If you do use it I recommend running a few more red sources.

Play tested against my mirror-ish Black Handed. It went back and forth. War of the rats :P

I REALLY like this. No Sire of Insanity? Seems like a solid fit. +1

Have you thought about Liliana's Reaver ? Maybe two or three won't hurt. Awesome deck though, +1 :D
December 10, 2013 7:57 a.m.
@marcosousasr that looks a lot like my Mono-black version of this deck Aggro Hand Destruction (blacked out version) nice. How's it working out for you?
@Geoffrey1 love the idea of Sire Of Insanity in this deck, but it's 6 CMC makes it rough to fit in without adjusting the mana-base heavily.
@TheVladster I did have Liliana's Reaver in here for the 1st two tournaments (check the updates) and it works great. I like it way better than Desecration Demon in here.
Thanks for the +1's and suggestions! Always appreciated, and please keep them coming!!!

@sharkudi i have tested it against a number of the decks in the TOP 8 list here and it has done pretty well in most match ups . Against Esper it's the long game. It's OK against burn but not always. If they decide to start emptying their hand by burning you instead of holding to kill creatures. Against Grixis it does well. Especially if they get a starting hand with their Blood Baron of Vizkopa and Obzedat, Ghost Council the lifegain blows from those.
December 10, 2013 3:15 p.m.
@marcosousasr yes burn is another one this deck struggles against. the PyrophorosmasteR deck gives it lots of trouble when burn is applied directly to my face. I can't even get consistent wins against 3 of my other decks Wurmmane, A Heroic Human Hootenanny!, and Crusading Caucasians Causing Chaos (CCCC)
not too concerned about Blood Baron of Vizkopa as Lifebane Zombie comes in the from the sideboard and Devour Flesh is saved in those matchups just for him.

I too have the same difficulties against a burn deck match-up. I am considering side-boarding Wild Ricochet
as a defense.
Slaughter Games x 4 might be needed in the sideboard. Just too useful against control but also against burn match-ups for those Purphoros, God of the Forge .

I think this is a great idea but honestly I would main board Anger of the Gods . If you can't use it you can always discard it to Pack Rat . Even if it kills some rats you still have Mutavault

Great deck, Has similar gameplay as my Desecrate the Mind (Competitive U/B). +1 from me. May I suggest Liliana's Reaver
. Being that keeping creatures off the board is a major part of the gameplay, you'll be forcing a discard and adding a 2/2 token everytime you swing with Liliana's Reaver
.

Oops, somebody made the same suggestion before me. Great card.

Will the Duress , Thoughtseize and Rakdos's Return be enough to quicly destroy your opponents hand and bring in Shrieking Affliction ? Rakdos's Return demands a good portion of mana to be effective, so are the to other cards enough to bring you opponent's hand to 1 or 0 cards? I'm just wondering because i think it is a really nice deck but i want to know how fast you can pour on the hunt with Shrieking Affliction ? +1

Mind Rot back again on the main sharkudi? Rakdos's Return is really mana intensive :p

Hey check my Seize ALL the thoughts, I am trying to fit Anger of the Gods vs those aggro decks.
Works nicely. I am also trying to find a place for Master of Cruelties and Sire Of Insanity .
Might make the deck a bit more controlish and ramp the mana base to 26 lands.
December 11, 2013 8:58 a.m.
2 x Anger of the Gods or 2x Slaughter Games is a good option and -2 Rakdos's Return .. like Fizzz says.. is a lot mana.. and I preffer keep lands in hand for Pack Rat ...a good deck! +1
December 11, 2013 9:20 a.m.
You could play 1-2 Sire Of Insanity if you added Underworld Connections and 1-2 Nykthos, Shrine to Nyx (which would be good with Rakdos's Return as well). Between Underworld Connections and Pack Rat you should be able to get enough devotion to play it easy enough. Maybe -1 Rakdos's Return , -2 Shrieking Affliction , -2 Liliana of the Dark Realms , -1 Swamp, -1 Mountain for +3 Underworld Connections , +2 Sire Of Insanity , +2 Nykthos, Shrine to Nyx . Check out my deck Decaying Dead. +1
December 11, 2013 12:29 p.m.
Underworld Connections maybe a good choice.. but Rakdos's Return .. 0,1 or 2.. required a lot mana.
with 4 land (no mutavault) in play is enough

One last suggestion. Death's Approach will be extremely beneficial to you and you should consider it for your main board. You will obviously be stockpiling the opponent's graveyard. One CMC that will take out indestructible creatures (Erebos, Nylea, etc etc etc). It's almost a no-brainer. I have mine on my sideboard but it will see mainboard action.

I playtested this deck against my Gruul Devotion Supreme Ramp Deck in a best of seven and came out ahead 4-2. I was pretty proud of myself because I haven't beaten a top 8 deck here yet, but then I read your comments and updates and realized that your main way of dealing with decks like mine is to use the sideboarded cards a lot, so that was disappointing. I figure if I had used the sideboard cards on your side you probably could have switched the score around 2-4 in your deck's favor. This is an amazing deck and it has easily earned a +1!

Great! I think its awesome! Also, if you are ever leaning onto more of the rat side of the deck, you might want to think about sideboarding Coat of Arms or other cards likt it which will make all rats super powerful. Very nice! +1

I've removed so many Planeswalkers from my opponents hand with Duress , definitely one of my favourite cards!

@Ixthinon going to try out Desecration Demon again as it is such a powerhouse. though in previous tests it has proven to be too controllable, and not reliable enough. How did Anger of the Gods work in your sideboard,? as I think playing my 3x i have in the sideboard may be the best answer to my creature heavy aggro deck problem.
still debating 21 or 22 lands. I never seem to have to mulligan with the deck in real life, so 21 has been working fine so far. This allows me to play 13 removal spells mainboard. Liliana of the Dark Realms helps make 21 lands doable with the low mana curve. 22 lands may still happen though as your ideal manabase here is 2xMutavault 2xBlood Crypt 1x Swamp = 5 land.
