(I Will expand this primer as I get the time.)

Why I built this deck: I started playing Magic during Shadows Over Innistrad. A friend taught me how to play Magic via some casual commander games and a pair of modern decks he had - two Jeskai Storm decks to play a mirror match. Still new to the game, I was impressed by how fast this archetype was. I'd never had so much to think about in a game of Magic before -- it was like solving a puzzle made of cards that changed with every new hand I drew. Still, my friend had been playing for years and was beating me every game. He was very knowledgeable about timing rules and efficient plays and was good at bluffing and playing little tricks on me. When I asked him how he got so good at the game, he attributed it to playing Storm and told me:

"If you play a Storm deck, you'll learn something new every game."

So I chose to do just that. This is my favourite deck I own in paper and my prized possession; a cEDH list for Kess, Dissident Mage that utilizes a variety of combo and storm win conditions. This list is as refined as possible -- only missing the OG duals, Mox Diamond and Lion's Eye Diamond, and Mind's Desire hits you for 6 off of Ad Nauseam, but I just like the card and wanted to include a way to win in classic Storm fashion. It has taken me three years of gradual purchases and trades totaling a little over $2,000 to build this list.

(If you want to build this deck on a budget, EDHREC is a great resource.)

Enjoy!

STRATEGY

Has great potential to assemble game-winning combos without sacrificing interactivity with opponents as early as turn two, and at average is winning by turn 4. Uses the graveyard like a second hand.

Includes a Thassa's Oracle package featuring Demonic Consultation and Tainted Pact. These cards are your ticket to winning on turn 2 and also function as all-in tutors if you want to find other ways to win.

You can use Remand or Narset's Reversal to return Mind's Desire to your hand and still have the storm copies resolve, then replay Desire again... and then AGAIN with Kess, Dissident Mage's ability-- I've played games where I managed to resolve 50+ copies of Mind's Desire!

Pieces of the Puzzle is underrated, and better than Fact or Fiction in this deck in my experience!
