Lend me a hand. Even better, just give it to me.

I run a monoblack discard. A ton of fun and super frustrating for your opponents as their hand dwindles away. I've heard it's like dying a slow and painful death. I play with a set of the rack and my playgroup always hates me when I drop it turn one, so clearly a good move. Shrieking affliction does this well too. I would recommend running a set of ravenous rats - gets rid of a card and provides a chump blocker later. Another creature you may want to look into is nyxathid. As your opponent's hand dwindles, he just gets stronger. Nothing like playing a 7/7 for 3. I would also recommend running some creature removal. It's inevitable that your opponent is going to get a creature out in the early stages of the game, so it might be worthwhile to protect yourself from said threat. Otherwise good start!

Thank you both for your comments!
Saljen~I agree. In all constructed decks there should be a consistency. Possibly you didn't read my description. Those are currently the cards I have. P.S (I like your deck)
enjoysafootlong~ I definitely like the looks of Shrieking Affliction , The Rack , and Nyxathid . I also have a few ravenous rats, so I will definitely put some in. Thank you for your opinion!

It's a travesty not to see Duress and/or Despise over Raven's Crime ! Those hit specific cards and are generally better. You can def keep Raven's Crime , just find space for the other two. I would personally take out Small Pox, never really liked that card, as it never really works out well. Take out Quag Sickness for any other better removal out there. 99% it will do the same job but better. You can get a set of like Doom Blade , Ultimate Price , or Go for the Throat and replace 2x Quag Sickness and 2x Murder . And also possibly Nighthowler as a finisher when your opponent's graveyard gets big with all their creatures you've dumped from their hand or taken off the battlefield. In this case, you probably wanna take out Crypt Incursion .

This deck was really good at shutting off my mono-red, and it is not bad for a beginner's Modern. I agree with what everyone else is saying; this deck feels too much of a singleton's deck, and for what it is, it is not half bad once it is tweaked a bit. I think that Despise Should be a sideboard card, and Waste Not should be in its place

Thanks for the suggestions Munk451, any ideas on more consistency?

@mr_spooner - Raven's Crime is one of the best discard spells in Modern or Legacy and should be a 4 of in any discard deck. It turns all of your excess land into potential discard, meaning it almost eliminates dead draws. And it can be used as many times as you have land as long as one is in your graveyard. Despise is just a bad card and Duress is a sideboard card at best.
As for Waste Not , I've been having a lot of fun with this card and it's worth testing out for sure.
Hoarder's Greed is too expensive. If you want draw then get 2x Sign in Blood in it's place. Much more mana efficient and you can use it to finish off an opponent if they have 1-2 life left.
+2x Bojuka Bog will give you an edge against any deck that uses the graveyard or flashback. Stops Snapcaster Mage in his tracks and hurts a ton of other decks in the format. If you aren't worried about cost, then 4x Mutavault would fit in here very well as well. Also, if you get some $$ Thoughtseize is great!

Considered adding a Nezumi Shortfang, in place of the ravenous rats?
You may get more than 1 discard out of them, and they become The Rack once there are no more cards to burn, so they're use doesn't disappear.

Master of the Feast would give you a beefy 5/5 Flyer on the cheap, and it would ensure that your opponent actually has something to discard on your turn. Discard is sorcery-heavy, so many opponents will just try to use things as they draw them, instead of waiting for you to make them throw it away.

that's an interesting idea Buckminsterfullerene. I was trying to go creatureless because of the Ensnaring Bridge, so I don't know yet. Thanks for the idea though!

Lots of singletons in here. In constructed magic, you really want to find out which cards work best in your deck and capitalize on them. If you want a budget Modern discard/creature destruction deck to look at for some suggestions, check out: Budget Modern Discard
