This is a casual EDH deck built around our friend, Circu.
Yes. You heard that right. The guy who doesn't even work in this format.
Plot twist, you're not targeting your opponents...
The goal of this deck is to become One with Nothing as everyone enjoys a pleasant Descent into Madness thanks to free lessons from our neighborhood doctor Circu, Dimir Lobotomist on how to give yourself a relaxing Lobotomy. Now, I know what you're thinking, why on Earth would you want to bring yourself to the Brink of Madness? Why go from ignoring the Endless Whispers to starting off on your Gibbering Descent into a mental state of Stasis? For fun of course.
I'll say first and foremost that this deck's strategy is not some round about far fetched means to winning. That being said, it CAN win. And it's still very much in the early stages, so while I am open to suggestions, understand that the core focus of the deck is not to be a contender, it's meant to be a new genre like Chaos or Group Hug. Can I win? Sure. But it's not particularly likely, and not the main goal. So try to stick to the character of the deck. By all means, give win cons, just stay in the spirit.
Hypothetically speaking, with the state of your mental health and physical well being rapidly declining, you're really not going to be much of a threat overall. And I'll say that I've made it to final two several times simply by being the vegetable. Your options are take out the ever growing Uril, obliterate the conniving Jhoira, or.. well... execute the guy who is literally LOBOTOMIZING HIMSELF IN THE CORNER. Will it always work? Probably not. Do I want to win? Sure. I think it would be hysterical. It's just not the main goal.
So what does it mean to truly become One with Nothing? Simply put, it would mean reaching a point where you have no hand, no graveyard, no board, nothing. But that's only one path you may take. Several cards in this deck are intentionally self-destructive for the sake of, admittedly, shock value among other things. BUT, if for any reason you decide to allow everyone else to join you in this weirdly self-destructive path, there are cards which will allow you to share the enlightened mantra that is becoming One with Nothing.
Now, as I said, hypothetically speaking, you can win with this deck. You can exploit the Puca's Mischief to give an opponent your Immortal Coil, Lich's Tomb, or other gift that can only have been in your possession as the product of your lobotomy. If someone plays some ridiculously destructive creature, Spinal Embrace can be used to show them the hubris in their avarice and teach them true nothingness.
My personal favourite includes waiting everyone is tapped or nearly tapped out, and play Stasis. Then with your remaining mana, try casting one of the two epic spells. Sure it's all you'll ever cast again. But that's alright. You're One with Nothing and that's ok. Your slow meticulous deterioration and theft of your opponents' memories is all that matters now. Chain of Smog is rather fun when you get a rather hopeless crowd. Watch all of the immediate thoughts slip away into oblivion. Additionally, if you have Immortal Coil you can play Sky Swallower, and if your opponent isn't dead yet, hopefully follow up with a Leyline of the Void to finish the job.
Side note, if you feel that someone is about to land the killing blow on your to end the fun, feel free to beat them to the punch by using a variety of suicide spells. One in particular that I find hilarious is Lim-Dul's Vault and refusing to stop paying life.
Enough talk, this is a completely ridiculous deck whose sole intention is to bring about self destructive and nullifying game states for either yourself or everyone involved, and I'm extremely interested in hearing opinions and ideas that you all have on how to make it even more efficient at achieving a close bond with absolute nothingness! +1 if you like the stupid concept of lobotomizing yourself and others in EDH, and as I said please feel free to comment and help me make this deck spectacularly ridiculous!
