A fun concept I built to combat aggro and creature-heavy mid-range decks. This collection of cheap Humans utilizes Detain, bouncing, and exile effects to stall the board until unblocked fliers or an enormous Champion of the Parish can end the game.

Use Azorius Charm and Hands of Binding to gain tempo advantage while you detain whatever they manage to keep on the battlefield. Faerie Impostor and Deputy of Acquittals bounce Azorius Arrester , Lyev Skyknight , or Azorius Justiciar to your hand and stagger your opponent's next turn. Unsummon fits both niches nicely and enables permanent exile of their creatures for 1WWU. Meanwhile, Snapcaster Mage ensures you'll rarely be caught without a way to send their creatures packing.

I was just playtesting this against a Gruul mid-range/tempo (?) player who was using Arbor Elf and Zhur-Taa Druid to ramp into multiple Thragtusk and Savageborn Hydra. I completely annihilated him. Despite having two Thraggies on the battlefield at once, and having cast two Hydras (the first of which my Fiend Hunter ate), he never got to attack me once throughout the entire game. I literally detained, exiled, and tapped down everything but his mana dorks each turn with Azorius Arrester, Lyev Skyknight, Azorius Justiciar, and Hands of Binding. My T3 Champion of the Parish ended as a 6/6, and gained a +1/+1 counter every single turn once he hit the battlefield.

I'm not claiming this is a truly competitive deck, but oh holy shit is it fun when it goes off!
