I originally built this deck in a few seconds on a whim, that whim being the delusion that Savor the Moment can be a playable card in Modern. The idea was to throw down a bunch of planeswalkers and dumb vigilant creatures. Brimaz, King of Oreskos and Stoic Angel, for instance, have outstanding synergy with Savor the Moment.

However, with the advent of Tamiyo, Field Researcher, the potential for competition became much more realistic. Tamiyo's first ability works perfectly with vigilant creatures -- potentially drawing up to 4 cards! Her second ability is perfect with extra turns -- your opponent already has to wait a while for their next two untap steps, and the wait's even longer when you're Savoring the Moments in between.

This deck actually has been running pretty smoothly: T1 Noble Hierarch into T2 Brimaz, King of Oreskos is already very good, but it's even better when followed up by T3 Stoic Angel or Tamiyo 2.0. After that, Savor the Moment usually puts us far enough ahead that the game's all but over.

One issue is the lack of powerful, vigilant 2-drops ( Imposing Sovereign is more of a flex slot and Sylvan Advocate on its own doesn't cut it). Remand has mitigated that issue by giving me something to do on T2; besides, taking a "Time Walk" on T2 isn't too bad. I still could use a solid, synergistic 2-drop though.

I've solved part of the problem of my removal: I've replaced Path to Exile with Devouring Light , which has great synergy with vigilant creatures and no drawback. However, while it's versatile, Beast Within is slow and has a threatening drawback, so I'm looking to replace it.

Hokori, Dust Drinker in combination with Root Maze/Thalia, Heretic Cathar makes for a powerful stax-y sideboard plan. The rest of the sideboard is still in development.

It's debatable that Birds of Paradise would be better than Honored Hierarch in this deck, but Hierarchs 5-6 are undeniably synergistic with this deck and I like discovering rogue cards' capabilities. I was considering playing Wilt-Leaf Cavaliers over the 4th Brimaz for legend-rule purposes, but I've found that Brimaz demands an answer often enough that I don't mind holding an extra copy. As aforementioned, Devouring Light works wonders with vigilant creatures, often allowing for attacks, blocks, and a free Path to Exile with no downside.

This deck's still under construction, and I'm appreciative of any and all suggestions! If possible, I'd most like feedback as to make this deck competitive/how competitive it is. Thanks for taking a look at this deck!
