I've beaten Tier 1 decks, and lost some, and won some. It's all a game, mainly it's a fun deck but for me I have definitely won a lot of good games with it. It's too bad you didn't have as much luck. I don't know how differently yours looked from mine, but mine's been good and fun. I'm interested though what our deck differences were. Still not taking it out of Competitive though ;)

I just disagree with the viability of the archetype all together. I don't think it could ever be good enough to win a large tournament.

Sorry to say, but Twiddle is already a deck in modern. It uses "twiddle effects" (untapping permanents) on cards like arbor elf to keep generating mana with twiddling overgrowth and other of those type effects and then drops a big dude with all that mana. So ya, twiddle already taken. sorry. You could just call this deck what it actually is called, Swan Hunt, or Seismic Swans

mattman856 it's officially TWDOL. Twiddle for short. Twiddle is not a deck that people play. Except for a few probably. And really nobody plays that card. But still cool, cause it's called Twiddle!

"Twiddle for short"

Twiddle = 7 letters

TWDOL = 5 letters

Pygmyrhino990 I know... It's a joke ;)

Hey, do you really like only having one Reliquary Tower? I find it helps so much with ensuring I have enough steam left to kill my opponent in grindier games and makes my Treasure Hunts significantly better.

Hi, thecakeisalie42

I have found that often I don't wish I had a Reliquary Tower, and when I do have it, I usually don't need it. These is because Treasure Hunt usually doesn't draw a ton of cards since I run more nonlands than normal. In fact, I have been thinking about replacing it with a Nephalia Academy.

I will definitely do testing with one more though.

Dakmor Salvage?

Ya know, calling this the best deck does kind of say that everyone else's is worse. So try to be nice about this. I like the deck though.

I guess it was so hard to beat Swans without Fatal Push or Doom Blade. I'd want Silence to protect em.

ScaryHairyBear, pleeeaaase. Do tell me a better deck.

2017qx22 actually no, if you have Seismic Assault on board then Push and Blade won’t Alsace any effect on Swans. Also when would you play Silence?

Have you thought about adding Day's Undoing or Time Reversal? These would give you another chance to hit the win condition. Many of my playtests quickly burn the opponent down to <8 life and slow to a crawl. Any one of these cards could refill your hand with more land (and toss the Treasure Hunts back into the fray.

Sadly, Timetwister is illegal in modern. Luckily, Seismic Assault's and Molten Vortex's effects can be activated at instant speed.

Lowenstein, yes I can. Modern Humans: https://www.mtggoldfish.com/archetype/modern-humans-46452#paper

Alos, Swans of Bryn Argoll is a terrible card. Not only does it suck, it makes no sense you are running it in a hunt deck. My deck list would be 52 lands, 4 Seismic Assaults and 4 Treasure Hunts. That's it.

September 24, 2018 2:56 p.m.

I can see this as a Zombie Hunt spin off, but not with Swans or day's undoing or that trash. I still do not understand why you run them.

September 24, 2018 2:58 p.m.

ScaryHairyBear As someone else that runs the Swan version of this deck the answer is really simple, it combos out with Seismic Assault for the win on turn 4.

Lowenstein love the build.

I am newish to magic and had a friend recommend this deck to me to beat one of our other friends. Needless to say I won, I won so much it is banned in my circle of friends. I ran exactly what you have up top for 1v1. We play a lot of 4 player FFA so I added a variant (since I kept decking myself and not having enough mana on hand to deal 60 damage) where I run Psychic Corrosion and added some Index ’s as well. Thank you from a very novice player (me) at starting a legitimate addiction. The 4 player FFA deck is 4x swans, 4x seismic assaults, 4x psychic corrosion’s, 2 index’s, 4x treasure hunts and basically the same as the 1v1 above I removed the Molten Vortex ’s and the Anger of the Gods to make room and not screw up the mama ratio too much.

I mean, this loses hard to most lists of the format, so it's not the best, but I always love Swans builds, this is a reasonable one of them. Honestly still think as a Yorion pile these decks could put in work, but not entirely sure on application of it. Snapcaster Mage Style Yorion build for sure could make it still function and have enough lands to combo, but also could loop value cards like Mystic Sanctuary with enough fetchlands. Triomes too, maybe a Field of the Dead line, not sure exactly.

SynergyBuild what would that Yorion deck/combo look like? I'm not familiar, but indeed interested.

And yeah I know this deck dies a lot to most things but for me it's still the best XD
