That is an excellent question that will be answered in the play guide.

May aswell add Desolate lighthouse to loot for your swans and assaults, its a land afterall. Apart from that maybe cut some lands for cantrips like Serum visions

The combo's fragile enough with the Swans still in it. Desolate Lighthouse seems good, but may make paying for Seismic harder. Cantrips, NO! But, Dr_Moosh knows that already :-).

I think having 12 non lands is a bit much but having 4 swans I suppose is good.

ilagirl, yes, Desolate Lighthouse is a land, but I really need that 3 red mana for Seismic Assault, and Lighthouse can only do colorless. And I can also draw plenty of cards once I get out Swans ;).

Tinselteeth is pretty right on everything he said ;)

Bnon, it is a little risky, but I have tested with other things and even having up to 15 nonlands is decent, cause Swans draws a lot, and can dodge nonlands, and that is why I run 4 Swans :)

But if you never draw your combo pieces you instantly lose, you should be guaranteed RRR especially if you have fetches to include. Mana fixing is so good in modern people often play cryptic command along side tectonic edge

Doesn't this deck lose to any counter magic?

March 19, 2015 1:27 p.m.

jesmister says... #8

Would adding in dispel or negate be good? I know its bad to not hit a piece of your combo with treasure hunt but it seems you lose to one mana leak or cryptic command or negate spell snare your treasure hunt, or even remand sets you back a whole turn spell pierce counters your combo

ilagirl you mulligan until you get treasure hunt and loot house does nothing you expect to win by then.

ilagirl says... #10

Mulligan to treasure hunt, yep this deck seems consistent..

March 19, 2015 8:52 p.m.

jesmister says... #11

You win with Treasure Hunt 98% for sure unless you get really unlucky or they have a counter

March 19, 2015 9:45 p.m.

I don't think the deck is supposed to be super consistent. It's supposed to be really good when it works, and occasionally break down. Almost like Amulet Bloom, but worse.

ilagirl says... #13

Amulet bloom has quite a lot of consistency with cantrips, tolaria west and stirrgins. It doesn't just break down when it can't find one card, I suggested cantrips as an obvious way to improve consistency

I think some of you are confused. Or maybe I am. Idk. But you don't just mull until you get Treasure Hunt. You need like Seismic Assault and Treasure Hunt. Or Swans of Bryn Argoll instead of Hunt. You usually, unless you have mulligan down to like 4 cards, won't keep a hand with just Treasure Hunt. Hunt is supposed to be like Swans, just worse. Does that make sense? Like you draw a ton of land cards on Turn 4 with Seismic Assault out, and then do damage. Swans is just way more consistent. Sometimes just keeping a hand with the Assault is fine too. Hunt can be used to search for another combo piece when desperate, but not usually. That make sense?

And yes, this deck does lose pretty hard to counter spells. But this isn't supposed to be too competitive ;)

I love that a deck like this has been made, but I don't understand how the combo works, can someone explain it to me?

March 20, 2015 11:47 a.m.

Lowenstein says... #16

Ch1efEngineer, thanks for liking it! Soon I will upload a play guide for those that don't quite understand it, I just have to work on it for a little bit. But here's the basic thing:

Get out Seismic Assault on Turn 3, then play one of the other 2 blue cards, Treasure Hunt or Swans, and draw a ton of lands, and discard them and do tons of damage to your opponent's face. :D

There y'all go! The play guide :)

Whats your reason for no Magma Jet?

March 26, 2015 2:43 a.m.

Magma Jet isn't good in this deck. It kills your Treasure Hunts, and could make the Swans fizzle. Basically any no land, no combo card can't be played

I'm surprised nobosy else said this but thanks for the guide.

Yeah Programmer_112 is correct about Magma Jet.

And Bnon you are welcome :)

This deck is AWESOME!!

But I have a suggestion! Laboratory Maniac sideboard to fight Leyline of Sanctity? If you play white and you suspect they will bring in Leyline, bring in the maniac!

ledvulture says... #25

Also good against Runed Halo or any card like it!
