If you are to add Arcanis the Omnipotent to the deck, just remind yourself that you're transforming card:Minamo, School at Water's Edge into a land that says: "(U),(tap): Draw Three cards."

I've got him in my deck and he's not too bad, especially when there's a Lightning Greaves on the battlefield...

Lightning Greaves /Swiftfoot Boots ... (you ain't untapping nobody with those greaves)

I don't see a need for card:Minamo, School at Water's Edge because its applications here are rather limited.

Lightning Greaves used to be in the deck but was dropped for more control. Protecting my creatures is not an issue and an extra counterspell has always helped me more than Lightning Greaves would have.

Arcanis the Omnipotent is a good creature but a bit vulnerable. My general makes it somewhat unnecessary and I also don't know what I would drop for it.

you're probably right. In a more creature-damage based deck, it always fun to attack with you legendaries, let your opponents attack you, (they often forget about minamo, or it's ability) and untap, so you can block their attacker. It's quite situational at times in most decks. But I play an Angus Mackenzie deck, so it's not too bad in there, and it doesn't really hurt my mana base to have it, so...

You indicated that Vesuva may bot be worth it because no one land is that worth copying.

copying coffers could be pretty crazy though

True, but I usually win when I get the first Cabal Coffers out. My Primeval Titan fetches usually find card:Volrath's Stronghold and Cabal Coffers on ETB (Stronghold as insurance in case Titan gets killed) and the first attack trigger gets Boseiju, Who Shelters All and Urborg, Tomb of Yawgmoth (so Cabal Coffers will untap before it could potentially produce mana).

While that lineup is subject to change based on gamestate, it's a pretty accurate estimate of the majority of games. I generally don't see a need for a second Cabal Coffers , but I will be paying close attention to my land base and Vesuva 's potential in the next few games.

Why not run Mind Spring instead of the zenith. I know that you get to shuffle the zenith back into the library, but that shouldn't matter when you have 80 other cards to draw instead.

June 19, 2012 11:18 a.m.

card:Blue Sun's Zenith is also instant speed. That's important because I will almost unfailingly cast it at an opponent's end step (especially if I have Seedborn Muse out); I don't ever want to tap out on my turn with control magic in hand.

Alchemist's refuge is the real deal when you have seedborn muse. It's an effect on the land and it should make the cut. Nice list though. Fabricate seems like it doesn't do enough work without stuff like O-stone to work with. Pernicious deed might not be the best when you have so many artifacts and enchantments that you want to stick around. BSZ, mutilate, and I'm forgetting the other black wraths that you don't have here, might be a good slot in for that because I feel like a table might gang up on you and you don't have many board cleaners.

June 19, 2012 1:50 p.m.

card:Black Sun's Zenith becomes extremely mana intensive when you need to kill big creatures. Mutilate is entirely dependent upon Urborg, Tomb of Yawgmoth to be practical.

Fabricate can find mana rocks, Mana Web , Crucible of Worlds or Vedalken Orrery depending on the gamestate. It's not as versatile as some of the other tutors but it's not bad.

Pernicious Deed is great insurance against tokens and I can afford to wrath my own board (to an extent) if it's necessary to kill something.

card:Alchemist's Refuge is a good land but I don't want to tax the land base with any more colorless-only lands. I already plan to accommodate card:Alchemist's Refuge if Primeval Titan ends up getting banned (since there are some lands here that I wouldn't run without the tutor power of one of the best green creatures ever printed).

A few updates:

I cut Maze of Ith for card:Alchemist's Refuge and plan on trying it out tonight in a few games. Maze was strictly utility and didn't have an inherent mana ability. On top of that, it was situational - I didn't tutor for it often and didn't like playing it when it was in my early hands.

I swapped Crystal Shard for Deadeye Navigator , which is more economical, reusable, and also allows Palinchron to go infinite sooner.

I'm debating cutting Future Sight or another card for Time Stretch , but will need to playtest extensively. Thoughts?

what about switching Knowledge Pool out for something...

June 23, 2012 3:09 p.m.

I don't see the advantage of having Knowledge Pool . Is there a reason for it?

This gets even more sick the more you look at it. Ever considered Crop Rotation ?

June 26, 2012 12:27 p.m.

Crop Rotation is good, but it doesn't really ramp in the sense that card:Nature's Lore and Skyshroud Claim do. I could only imagine finding Boseiju, Who Shelters All with it and even then I don't know if it's worth it.

Maybe Diabolic Revelation > Increasing Ambition ? It seems pretty cool...

June 28, 2012 11:53 a.m.

I considered Diabolic Revelation , but it's even more mana intensive than Increasing Ambition . The nice thing about the latter is that I can cast it and set up my combo and then flash it back for a win-con once the combo is up.

There will come the time I have a suggestion which actually helps. lol :D

June 28, 2012 12:10 p.m.

Every suggestion is helpful regardless of whether or not it's implemented in the deck. Even getting me to think about something in a different way is more useful than not saying anything at all.

June 28, 2012 12:35 p.m.

I've seen Draining Whelk do some serious damage, and it has tremendous synergy with Deadeye Navigator . And with cards like Seedborn Muse , Vedalken Orrery and Leyline of Anticipation , you're likely to leave mana open for it.

June 29, 2012 7:08 a.m.

I already run Mystic Snake for that purpose (which is cheaper, although more color-intensive). I'm not sure if I need another of such a creature. Plus Venser, Shaper Savant can do almost the same thing.

June 29, 2012 11:22 a.m.

Add Vorosh, the Hunter , Experiment Kraj & The Mimeoplasm ... The Mimeoplasm Should Be Your General/Commander...

June 29, 2012 5:08 p.m.

Vorosh, the Hunter doesn't offer anything to the build.

Experiment Kraj is too limited and vulnerable; it'll die before it ever becomes useful.

The Mimeoplasm doesn't really interact with the deck at all. Damia is a much better general and provides card draw in the later turns after I've ramped.
