I would consider a few changes, Zhur-Taa Druid out for Arbor Elf , Experiment One out for Flinthoof Boar . The elf is a much stronger mana dork then the druid. With a hand of one forest, one Arbor Elf , one Burning-Tree Emissary , one Flinthoof Boar , and any other land is a turn two hasted Boar and the Emissary as a blocker.

Hope this helps, good luck with the deck.

@NeoHazard Thank you for your recommendations. I like everything you recommended. The deck as it is currently though is ready for RTR Block format/standard after M14 comes out. I will definitely add those cards until that time though. Thanks again.

True to what NeoHazard said. Getting in the Arbor Elf , you have turn 2 a CMC of 3, in this case Wild Beastmaster .

T1 - Forest , Arbor Elf T2 - Burning-Tree Emissary , Flinthoof Boar and/or Wild Beastmaster T3 - ouch

Just an fyi the rotation doesnt happen until Sept when the first set of the new blocks comes out. But being ready for that change early is not a bad idea. I really hope they reprint Arbor Elf that card is just too useful.

I've been doing some heavy playtesting with a deck similar to this one and have found that replacing Flinthoof Boar /Strangleroot Geist with Signal the Clans is significantly more beneficially for finding Bloodrush creatures to help kick your Wild Beastmaster combo off.

@brownkidd Thanks for the recommendation. I will check that out.

How has this deck tested?

The deck has played fast and won a majority of the games I have played. What's even funnier is the fact that the deck is meant to utilize Wild Beastmaster 's ability to a nasty degree and I've yet to get that combo going. Bloodrush is just an awesome ability in itself.

Hound of Griselbrand is another efficient creature to bloodrush onto, and it's also quite hard to remove because of undying. My brother runs it in his gruul deck and it wins him most of his games.

@TheFanatic That is a very nice recommendation. Thank you for directing me to another Doublestrike with Undying to boot. I will definitely be looking into a place to put it in. Any suggestions? I am putting a lot of consideration in removing the Wild Beastmaster as she rarely ends up affecting the board so that is a possibility.

Hm... You could potentially drop Gruul War Chant and 1 Wild Beastmaster for it. I think the beastmaster combo is worth keeping, at least for a while. If it doesn't work at all then you could cut it, but I've seen it win games.

Have you considered Primordial Hydra over Savageborn Hydra ? Savage is nice because you can manually pump him up, but assuming he stays on the field, Primordial seems to be a bigger threat.

@ZServ I have not actually. I own the 2 Savageborn Hydra from opening packs and I have not been so lucky as to open the Primordial Hydra . I also find the Doublestrike to be a key difference. I may proxy in the Primordial Hydra to see how the two play in comparison. Thanks for the suggestion.

I would suggest not using the general section of the deckbuilder as it messes with the playtester. Also having a card foiled and not foiled has been known to glitch the playtester as well.

@Demarge thanks for tip. I will make those changes right now. Didn't know those had an effect on the playtester.

Either will usually cut the number of copies to 1 of in the playtester.

Champion of Lambholt always puts any aggro deck onto defense, and using blood rush on Wild Beastmaster will trigger Lambholt's effect for no blocks. So if your problem is beating Naya Blitz, Lambholt is your answer! Check out my Gruul deck if you want any more ideas - Gruul Human Aggro (Rubblebelt Raiders)

Markov Blademaster ? Also, I am not a big fan of Signal the Clans how has it been doing?

May 31, 2013 4:21 p.m.

psychoza says... #22

thisisnotarealdeck45, the Signal the Clans works pretty good around turn 4-5 when my hand start petering out. It allows me to go and grab a creature, even if it is random, and generally I pull out my Wild Beastmaster , Ghor-Clan Rampager , and one other creature that's needed so it never feels like a bad thing. I have limited playtesting against other decks but like I said so far it feels good.

thisisnotarealdeck45 and 757Nightmare, both of you gave me 3 drops and while I think they are both powerful additions, I think adding additional 3 drops will make the deck slower than it already feels. What do you all think they can replace?

May 31, 2013 4:34 p.m.

757Nightmare says... #23

I'd replace the 2x Savageborn Hydra with Champion of Lambholt because the hydra will only be good if you have enough mana to get him started with +1 counters. You might think that the arbor elves would help with that but their tiny 1/1 wont last too long in a match. Also with cards like Putrefy , Murder , Dreadbore , etc. it would be a waist to tap out on so much mana to have it killed next turn... Yes Lambholt would die too, but you only need to spend 3 mana to get her out and running!

omg im puting wild beastmasters into my gruul midrange deck, that is sooooo funny XD

June 7, 2013 11:38 a.m.

psychoza says... #25

@jonesy I'm glad you like it. I did a lot of testing last night with a buddy and she adds SO much value to every attack you can get in with her even if it is only +1/+1. Yeah it sucks when she dies or whatever but so does anything else getting burnt. I swung for 30+ damage one game as I gave her Armed / Dangerous and then Ghor-Clan Rampager , and then swung with 4 creatures: Wild Beastmaster , a Burning-Tree Emissary , a Legion Loyalist , and a Lightning Mauler . All creatures had +6/+6, First Strike, Trample, and the Wild Beastmaster herself had Double Strike. This deck just has SO much burst.
