@droslag Traitorous Blood gives trample for the same CMC despite it being 1RR versus 2R. I think it's worth it.

Not until September. So why not use it until it does? That's like saying you won't use Rootbound Crag in this deck because it will also be going out of Standard soon...

I really like this deck style!!! I have copied your deck to a degree and really like the way it plays out in games. I find that dropping the total Domri Rade copies to 2 and bumping the copies of Wild Beastmaster to 4 really helps to speed the deck up. I felt i had to make better use of Domri's ability so i added more bloodrush creatures as I felt they just fit better into the deck. I switched Flinthoof Boar with Slaughterhorn , then i switched out Lightning Mauler with Rubblebelt Maaka , I also changed out the Arbor Elf for Zhur-Taa Druid and Hellrider with Boros Reckoner which i only put 2 of in because i needed room for a few extra sorceries and instants I needed. as for Sorceries instants and enchantments I am running 7, 3 Armed / Dangerous 2 Skullcrack and 2 Gruul War Chant Land is pretty much the exact same. i have been thinging about changing out the skull crack though for a few cards i thought might be worth trying. how do you think Forced Adaptation and Serene Remembrance would work in this deck. Obviously the Forced Adaptation would be put on Wild Beastmaster so every turn she gets more and more scary. and the Serene Remembrance would be used to shuffle used Bloodrush cards back into the deck, but what do you think would they be useful in a more agressive deck ment for a fast win???

I'm glad you liked the style.

I think the Forced Adaptation is a bit slow. You have to wait for the next turn for it to be effective. Now, Rancor , that would be fun. Immediately makes her a 3/1 and enables trample on her which you would be lacking without the Ghor-Clan Rampager so your Slaughterhorn / Rubblebelt Maaka changes are extra effective. Another option is Zhur-Taa Swine for more Bloodrush.

I think the Serene Remembrance is to much of a "plan for a long game" card. With a deck like this you want to win as fast as possible and you don't want one in your opening hand.

These are of course just my 2 cents. Hopefully you find them helpful.

Ahhh yeah I thought they were slower cards as well. Although Serene Remembrance I would consider for a side board just incase a few of the better bloodrush cards get milled out before they can be used or if the opposing deck is ment to play a longer game. I'm still a little torn on Forced Adaptation in a few play tests i've done it has proved useful but like you said it is quite a bit slower then say Rancor or another enchantment.

I really love this deck, it's amazing, I made a deck based on yours, but i put only cards that will be after the rotation and added 4x Ash Zealot, i like it a lot on this deck.

Sorry my bad english xD

Considered Champion of Lambholt already?

Rubblebelt Maaka ? Really?

Wouldn't Pyrewild Shaman just be better? If not just Slaughterhorn ?

Also, I'd be running a playset of Hellrider s. It's exactly what aggro wants and where it needs to go.

For the sideboard, have you considered Ranger's Guile ? Azorius Charm (or any kind of removal, really) happen to annihilate Bloodrush.

Lastly, consider adding one or two copies of Wrecking Ogre . It can easily end a game while your opponent is sitting pretty with a bunch of life.

@ZooGambler I have considered it and haven't really found a slot for it.

@zandlThe Rubblebelt Maaka was there for testing. Before the change it was 3x Searing Spear . I have tried the Pyrewild Shaman and was not impressed. Less toughness for more mana. Yes you can bring it back but I found I never had the mana to do so. The Slaughterhorn is there to bring out early but again, only 2 toughness can be killed easily enough by a Shock or Pillar of Flame . The Rubblebelt Maaka will probably not be sticking around.

I want to keep the curve low and therefor I have not put a full set of the Hellrider in. I will playtest with it but there are some games I don't get 4 mana.

I have not considered the Ranger's Guile and will definitely do so.

For reasons the same as the Hellrider , I don't want the game to run long and I would rarely ever have 5 mana out. I like Wrecking Ogre but I think it deserves a spot in a more midrange deck with Farseek s and mana dorks to ensure you have the 4-5 mana early.

Thank you both for taking the time to provide your input.

can we get a updated deck list

@thorvil I'm not sure what you mean. This is the deck I have been running and is up to date. The only variations are whether or not I'm running the Rubblebelt Maaka s or Searing Spear .

I've been playing this deck a lot recently, and I absolutely love it. Some changes I made, though, were replacing the Arbor Elf with Elvish Mystic and adding one more Wild Beastmaster , replacing the Domri Rade .

psychoza says... #17

@NoPantsParade I actually like both of those changes. I have a 4th Wild Beastmaster coming in the mail soon and I've been considering the change to Elvish Mystic . I still like the ability to untap Stomping Ground for an additional red if needed but I don't like missing on M13 lands. I'm glad it's working out for you.

psychoza, I playtested this deck against my werewolf deck Prof. Lupin's Super Friends. Just wanted to say... Jesus. This deck is brutal, and I really love it. Whenever your deck was on the play, it always won. I could sometimes delay for one or two turns, but yeah. That said, my deck could out-race it when I was on the play. What do you usually sideboard into the deck when playing against aggro?

Congrats on making a brutal, effective aggro deck. This build is truly excellent.

psychoza, I too am using almost this exact deck but with one more Wild Beastmaster in lieu of Domri Rade . It truly is a fantastic deck, and so very rewarding when the combo works out! I win the majority of games that I play with it.

psychoza says... #20

@Degonvey If I am facing red, I side in Volcanic Strength as the additional 2 damage unblockable a turn helps a lot. Other than that it's usually Shock and Pillar of Flame to try and burn out their early creatures. I then usually take out Domri Rade and Armed / Dangerous for these changes as they are the slower cards.

@moffutt10 I'm glad the deck works for you as well. It truly does feel amazing when you go off!

hey psychoza will you be updating your deck for theros rotation or using a different one?

September 16, 2013 6:11 p.m.

I will definitely be updating it as I acquire the cards, I enjoy this deck too much to let it die ;-)

I went 3-1 last night at FNM with my last chance to run this in it's current form.

The only difference is that I reverted back to a previous version where you ran 3x Domri, 3x WB.

I look forward to seeing your post-Theros updates, although I don't see how it can possibly be as fast and efficient as it is right now, but you never know!

Once again, I commend you for making this deck. Your abuse of the bloodrush mechanic is absolutely glorious to behold.

Hey psychoza what cards are you considering now since rotation? Do you have a list / ideas? By the way I played my own version of this deck and came third out of 20 at FNM (rotation friendly)
