Thats a good suggestion. What do you think I should swap?

Personally, I feel that 4 Archangel of Thune is one too many. So, I may cut one of them. Also, the Fleecemane Lion maybe?

Ready / Willing for sideboard is nice. One half for the indestructible / untap (effective against boardwipes) and the other for death touch and lifelink, just like your Whip of Erebos .

Thanks for the suggestion. My sideboard really needs work.

Cool deck idea, should work well once its going, main problem I see with it is that theres a very high chance you can run out of steam or get the wrong kind of mana.
First thing Id do is add the Temple of Plenty and up the count of Temple of Silence to 4. The Scry should really help you dig to what you need and this should fix any possible mana issues. The shock lands from Return to Ravnica and Gatecrash are worth adding if you have them.
I dont think you need Blind Obedience or Path of Bravery with all the other life gain you have. I think these spots could be for card drawing stuff. You could consider just adding Spirit of the Labyrinth to level the playing field, or Courser of Kruphix to burn through the lands, otherwise Grisly Salvage can help you dig very quickly. If youre worried about dumping good stuff into the graveyard you can also add Treasured Find to make sure you have access to the bin.
Anyhow, +1 for having a deck with Archangel of Thune that isnt boring or crappy

Thanks for the help. Definitely had my eye on the new temple and courser. Never thought about Spirit of the Labyrinth or Grisly Salvage . I'll try them out in place of your suggestions.

Your sideboard is a bit short, why not add Hero's Downfall since you have black. Also, you have to assume people will try to stop all the combos and triggers. Maybe Voice of Resurgence to help with that?

Have you thought about cutting the black and going straight G/W the whip is a good idea but throwing a third color in is going to make it harder to play your cards. Just as a suggestion if you drop the Whip's and the Corpsejack's you could throw in 2 more Fiendslayer's, 1 Trostani, 1 Loxodon, 1 Sylvan, and 1 Soldier of the Pantheon. Then change out one of the path of bravery for a spear of heliod. Just a suggestion, I like the counter combo with corpse jack and archangel but it feel like you are sacrificing some of the speed and consistency that this deck can have. You could also take out the Ajani's and throw in 3 brave the elements so you can swing freely with your big creatures or maybe riot controls to block damage and gain life. Only a suggestion but I see a lot of potential in the deck. :)

Thanks everyone for the great suggestions.
@ Ra1nStorm, I think that Voice of Resurgence is a great card, do you think I should main board or sideboard it only?
@ AwesoMapes, Thanks for the great thoughts. Originally this deck had blue instead of black but I changed it for lifelink mainly. I have thought about going only white green to make it more consistent, but to tell you the truth this deck may be going back to blue soon.

Mainboard for sure. Too many people use instants on your turn. Its nice to have tokens in response

Blood Baron of Vizkopa seems like a perfect fit.

What about Brimaz, King of Oreskos? would trigger trostani when you get his tokens, would get huge with arch angel, its on curve..
February 18, 2014 11:20 a.m.

Yes! Both of those are great. Deffinatly trying to get ahold of at least one more brimaz. Changed the deck to just green white, so as good as he is no bloodbaron. :(

Fix the sideboard, Seven cards is just stupid, anything can go in there to help, put in Pithing Needle , Mistcutter Hydra , anything, seven is just plain awful, also do add 2 Fiendslayer Paladin to the sideboard, really helpful. Interesting deck, seems like too much of a theme deck for me though. How well does it do in FNM?

Keyanf10, Two things, 1: Are you refering to Reid Duke due to the fact that this deck is selesnya and he frequently plays it, or is that his actual name?2: Also don't be mean, of course the deck isn't amazing, the sideboard is incredibly flawed and the premise is confusing but it is a decent deck that would be fun to play, honestly i think the deck needs to be worked out better, for example, 4 Pithing Needle will NEVER be played 2 tops and i wouldn't recommend that. But the deck holds interest, Know i wont give you my +1 Yet because the deck has too many flaws, but shoot me up anytime and i will be glad to propose help, and when the deck has the chinks nocked out, i will gladly +1.

I like the updates to your deck that you've made since last time i saw, but i have some more suggestions for now, let's start, shall we. Ok so some good moves here would be to remove the Sylvan Caryatid , You don't need mana ramp when the max of your mana curve is Five. Also you need to instill consistency, so have no less than two of each card in your deck so it plays solidly. Add one more Brimaz, King of Oreskos and one more Kalonian Hydra Cutting the Sylvans. Also fix your land, add 3 more Temple of Plenty s and 4 Temple Garden s Don't worry if you don't have them in paper, just aspire to getting them and put them in this version (Also don't stress the shock lands, if you personally don't like them, don't add them). Also this goes without saying, but for the Scry and Shock lands, just take out basic lands (But an even amount of each type). I will frequently play test your deck against different archetypes to see how it fairs, i love the way you build them and i would love to see you perfect your deck building.

Thanks for coming back to this deck again. I don't like shocks, but I am trying to get more temples. I made another deck very similar to this that already had most of your suggestions. It is more competitive and agro while this is more fun and synergizing with the archangel. Here it is.
Life counters and tokens oh my! Playtest
