Since you took out a lot of your instant game id recommend a flash enabler like vedalken orrery or leyline of anticipation. Yeva, Nature's Herald is also a good choice depending on the percentage of green creatures you have.

Also creatures like AEtherling can turn Riku into an Ant Queen for RUG. Deadeye Navigator works to this end as well. I still cant recommend Ingot Chewer enough over some other artifact removal. I mean look at that flavor text!

Identity Thief in that same vein.

griffstick & MegaMatt13: My mana base is definitely very solid though. During a test game i had 13 mana on turn 4, casting Riku of Two Reflections and a copied Wurmcoil Engine. The game was over soon. ;)

Instead of the "Temple" lands, i've put in Hinterland Harbor, Rootbound Crag and Sulfur Falls. The main goal of this deck is to play as fast as possible. Therefore all lands coming in tapped will slow me down. Also the only fetch land i have is the most important one for me, because i can search for any shock land in this deck.

NewHorizons: No not really, i just removed all counter spells and i replaced them with other instants and versatile cards. With Teferi, Mage of Zhalfir and Alchemist's Refuge there are already two flash enablers.

Thanks for your suggestions, but my deck is pretty tight and I really don't know what to cut. Deadeye Navigator seems to be good, but imo a bit slow. I need at least 8 mana to make the card work properly. In this case Crystal Shard is more useful for me. Also because i can bounce my commander or important creature to recast or protect them.

How did you have 14 mana on turn 4

Yeah that claim seems dubious to me going over the decklist.

griffstick: Sorry, i've meant that i was able to produce 13 mana on turn 4.

Turn 1: Land & Sol Ring

Turn 2: Land & Skyshroud Claim

Turn 3: Missed land drop, but Gilded Lotus copied with Phyrexian Metamorph

Turn 4: Land -> 13 Mana

Leaving you with 3 cards in hand after casting Wurmcoil Engine. Bravo. I've pulled a similar case like that before. You were very lucky to get all of you best ramp spells Sol Ring Skyshroud Claim gilded Lotus and Phyrexian Metamorph all in that that order.

griffstick: Thanks, but it just happens once in a lifetime i guess. :)

The other cards were Capsize and 2 dead ones. With so much mana open, i've bounced him Prossh, Skyraider of Kher and Ogre Battledriver all the time. It was hilarious! :D

Hey hey nice little build here! I feel like the key to riku is to have options and to try to have answers. He is so good at making any answer you have turn into a definite advantage it's ridiculous.

Just at a quick glance you should consider Diluvian Primordial and Deadeye Navigator as well as Snapcaster Mage.

I updated my deck and now it has a bunch of fun stuff. I tried making a "copy" riku deck before and it was good but felt like it relied on too many other things. The spellslinger's toolbox I have running right now was very satisfying to play and the wins felt earned. A total star in my new deck was Keiga, the Tide Star as you can copy her and she "dies" letting you steal a creature. Great way to fizzle a creature threat and turn it into an advantage. VERY BREAKABLE WITH KIKI JIKI AND DEADEYE NAVIGATOR.

Another great card I found was Kazuul, Tyrant of the Cliffs as he prevents token swarms from overwhelming me.

I also like to steer far away from artifacts and run the bare minimum in case someone has an avenger of zendikar. I run a LOT of spot removal in my deck and keep some crazy cards over more competitive draw cards cuz I like to keep a degree of randomness in my decks (sure they main win cons are there and combo together with a lot of things, but GETTING there is always an adventure and never a rush).

Give it a gander and let me know what you think. I am definitely considering some swapouts but not sure what I would remove cuz I love the cards so much (probably some of the walkers I threw in that have been a bit lackluster- chandra, kiora, and garruk really- dack, jace, and kiora have been awesome).

djewell: Thanks for your upvote and comment, i really appreciate that. :) Well, i definitely need to update my deck. As you can see right now it's more of a Temur goodstuff deck, but i don't know in which direction i should go with this. Maybe some kind of Riku creature pod. I'm open to any suggestions.
