Well, got to really test myself and this deck this weekend. Was a rough start at 0-2 with losses against a Kiki Combo Deck (1-2 Close match that I had never played before and thus was a bit unprepared for) and Hollow One (0-2 This one just steamrolled me going off early both games). Next round was against Naya Pelt Zoo (2-1) a narrow win where I was down to 1 life in game 3 but top decked a Worship at which point he just extended his hand. After that I finally picked up some steam building my record to 6-2 with wins over Storm (2-0), Tron (2-0), Mardu Superfiends (2-0), Jund (2-1), Golgari Midrange (2-0). Sadly my last round of the day was against a guy from my LGS who I have always run terribly against and that trend continued as I lost (0-2) to his Dredge deck. Fortunately due to a smaller turnout I made it to day 2 just barely.
Day 2 was not as good. Started with winning my good matches Storm (2-0) and Azorious Control (2-0) but losing my bad ones Tron (0-2) and Burn (0-2). With 2 matches left and an outside shot of cashing my deck apparently decided it had had enough as I was mana screwed heavily in a loss against Skred (0-2) and finally just couldn't get enough going against Humans (0-2).
So finished with a total record of 8-7. Certainly not my ideal but, I day 2ed an Open in only the second one I've ever played in and finished with a winning record overall. Definitely room for improvement but accomplished some of my personal goals for the event.
