-Deck Power Evaluation-

Style: Enchantress

Try to find and cast and early enchantress to start the deck's engine going early.

Tutor Count: 11

Sterling Grove , Survival of the Fittest , Demonic Tutor , Diabolic Intent , Eldritch Evolution , Crop Rotation , Eladamri's Call , Enlightened Tutor , Vampiric Tutor , Worldly Tutor , Academy Rector

Win by Turn: 8-12

While it may be possible for the deck to win earlier, the deck requires a few pieces in play to lock up the game. Ideally you'll want to get Living Plane along with Elesh Norn, Doomwake Giant, or Linvala to shut down everyone's mana and attack with an army of your own. Luminarch Ascension angels or infinite squirrels are a back up plan.

Power Level: 8.5

The deck does have a high number of tutors, but it can be tricky to manage what to go for and when. Living Plane isn't a card you want to cast without having the other half of the combo ready to go. So while it may be easy to find Living Plane or Doomwake Giant, you really want them assembled together, and even then it doesn't guarantee a victory. The low cmc, high number of dorks, and general high card quality gives a lot of strength to this deck.

-Deck Play Pattern-

Your ideal opening hand will have a mana dork, an enchantress effect, and some type of enchantment to follow up with to start your engine. With an enchantress down, every enchantment is a cantrip in addition to it's other use of protecting your permanents, taxing your opponents, accelerating your mana, or drawing more cards.

Build up your board state and tutor for missing pieces to eventually lock out your opponents with Living Plane + Elesh Norn, Grand Cenobite or Doomwake Giant . This will turn all lands into 1/1 creatures and then kill them with Elesh Norn's static ability or Doomwake Giant's triggered ability. You will be left with an army of lands to finish off your opponents. Linvala, Keeper of Silence can also shut down your opponent's mana, but they will still be left with an army of lands, so beware if you go this route.

If you are finding it difficult to pick your spot to land the Living Plane combo, you can also with with an unchecked Luminarch Ascension or the Earthcraft + Squirrel Nest combo. While I don't have a haste enabler or Blood Artist effect for the Squirrel Nest combo, Earthcraft is good enough on it's own in the list to include Squirrel Nest if they happen to line up.

Other pieces in the deck are designed to slow your opponents, like Blind Obedience , Aven Mindcensor , and card:Thalia, Heretic Cather. Some protect your permanents and combo, like Sterling Grove , Silence , and Heroic Intervention . The rest is acceleration, tutors, and draw.

I've always loved the enchantress archetype and have fond memories of playing this list in extended back in 2002! https://decks.tcgplayer.com/magic/freeform/jj-stors/flotsam---jetsam-enchantress/490

Although my commander deck wins in a different manner, I still get the same joy from drawing so many cards from casting enchantments.
