Thanks dakotastic. Correct me if I'm wrong, but isn't Khans of Tarkir going to bounce Return to Ravnica out of standard not Gatecrash? As such, I have no RTR cards in this deck. I do, however, have some Gatecrash.

Once Khans comes out, the entire RTR block will rotate; Return to Ravnica, Gatecrash, and Dragons Maze will all rotate out on the 26th.

Thanks Guys. hateindigital I have checked out PORNITHOPTER and that is where I got the initial idea for the one infinite combo. Also, I credited you for that in my description. Credit where credit is due. Great job!

Any suggestions for this deck? Are there any holes in it?

I just added daring thIef possibility of taking someones threats and then bouncing the permanent back to your hand with helix is pretty fun.

I like the infinite combo as a plan B, second to ensoul/shrapnel blast/doom engines. +1
@Hateindigital Do you mean use Thief to swap a permanent, then bounce YOUR permanent back to your hand to replay it? That's pretty good.
If you mean use Retraction Helix to return opponent's permanents to your own hand, all bounce spells return permanents to their owner's hand; the guy who actually purchased and owns the card which is distinct from 'controller's hand'. There is not effect outside of Letter Bomb and old Ante cards that allow you to put an opponent's permanent into your hand, graveyard, deck, or exile. They always go to their owner.

The first plus giving them a dud is pretty fun here's a blank bribers purse or astral cornucopia... Enjoy.

Thank you to all those who have voted and visited thus far. I think this deck, perhaps with a bit of tweaking, is going to be a strong contender in standard competitive. I would love to hear any other ideas. Keep'em coming!

Something to consider is Ghostfire Blade . Heres the scenario. T1: Land, Ornithopter, Springleaf Drum. Tap Thopter to drum cast Ghostfire Blade. Turn 2: Land, Second Thopter. Tap new thopter to drum, EQUIP Blade to untapped Thopter. Use lands to cast Ensoul. Turn 2 swing 7 in the air... Just throwing that out there :P

Also want to make note, you realize this is a 61 card deck right? I mean its not that big of a deal, but wanted to make sure you didn't miscount.

An infinite combo in Standard? If you ask me, it's begging for a bounce or removal on the helix'd creature. But +1 for the combo. Even if its fragile, that's pretty solid stuff.

Wow, this is an impressive deck and I hope to see it played in the Standard environment. I am loving the Scuttling Doom Engine + Shrapnel Blast combo a lot. 11 damage, ouch. +1

I really like this deck. But it seems as if it just literally loses to a Deflecting Palm and decent removal. But overall I'm gonna have to play this deck. +1 for infinite combos in standard.

Deflecting Palm definitely is a concern here. Kind of a risk/reward thing, but it can make your turn 2 win a turn 2 loss instead.

Ugin's Nexus and Ghostfire Blade are both great cards that would work well in this deck. I'm just not sure where they fit in and who/what would not make the cut in their stead? Sideboard for now. As for the Deflecting Palm , it truly can turn the tides against this deck. In thinking of ways to deal with this, seems like having a couple in my deck is the best response (as was mentioned in previous comments). Again, the issue of what to cut in place of Deflecting Palm is a tough choice. Suggestions? For now, until I can make an informed decision, the sideboard it is! Thanks all.

Consider [Howl of the horde] maybemaybe? Imagine Attacking with [Scuttling doom engine] and casting that and shrapnel blast for a total of 27 dmg. Or [altar of the Brood] for extra win con? Ornithopter is the key here so perhaps some taiga's or dig thru time? Just some suggestions. Def trying this deck with minor tweaks! +1 for me!

Nice, the only thing is that Gatecrash is rotating out in four days. I suggest you start looking at Khans of Tarkir cards to replace your RTR cards.
