The main strategy of this deck is to keep the opponent with a smaller and less offensive field. The deck has the best "mana dorks" to try to play the commander as fast as possible and then use Armageddon, Ravages of War or Cataclysm. Like all Abzan Tempo decks, there are the best black discards and various removals to destabilize the opponent's strategy and gain tempo advantage. The mana curve is low, with relevant creatures in CMC = 2, in addition to some larger monsters like Kalitas, making it possible to impose pressure both at the beginning of the game and also in the late game.
