I've played Wee Dragonauts actually for a while and I prefer Nivix Cyclops . A flipped Delver of Secrets Flip also has flying and almost the same damage potential. Beside this I've several cards (Distortion Strike , Apostle's Blessing ) that make the cyclops unblockable.
And adding effect to my deck? would be so evil. I would splash it with black then though for Tainted Strike .

This deck looks a lot like mine.. Izzet Immolation (Turn 2 Win!) so +1 for that. If I didn't +1 yours I guess it would mean I hate my own deck, lol... I avoid upvoting my own decks, though it's tempting. I took a little inspiration from this and decided to go for Apostle's Blessing , though I put it in my SB. If you've got a minute to take a peek at mine, that'd be great. :)

thanks for the comment. I don't really care that much about votes. Apostle's Blessing
is a must in this deck though. Your creature gains protection from a color (thus protected from spells like Unsummon
) and is (usually) unblockable.

Made some small changes to this deck (swapped some creatures and instants). Made by deck a lot more expensive but also a lot stronger.

You can't cast 2 other spells in turn 3, though, since almost all your spells are 2 mana or more. Double Cleave is obviously the weakest of your Double strike giving spells, of which you have 10, I would drop the Double Cleave s.
I would also drop 1 or 2 Silence (s) as it doesn't really add to what you want to do if you use it to prevent your Kiln Fiend from being countered. Mostly it'll prevent your guy from dying, but that's what you have the protection spells for, right?.
I would also drop a Mizzium Skin (7 protection spells should be more than enough).
Then you could add in your 4x Lightning Bolt which removes threats and makes Fiend/Cyclops deal 3 more damage (6 total if you just bolt them to the face).
Something which might be worth keeping in mind is the pure pump spells. Brute Force (Is essentially "+6/+3") and Mutagenic Growth which is +5/+2 for no mana cost.
Also Gitaxian Probe is a spell you could run for zero mana, that will you know what spells to play around in your opponents hand, and on top of that it even draws you a card. You could keep those in mind.
Hope this wasn't too long, and that it helped a little.

Right, also I personally prefer Artful Dodge over Distortion Strike . The Dodge, can in theory give all creatures +6/+0, in a turn, and make two creatures unblockable.
Seeing that both Kiln Fiend and Nivix Cyclops have 1 power, the extra +1/+0 from Distortion Strike, will almost never be relevant, when you're running double strike spells.
If you cast three spells, one of which is a Boros Charm on double strike mode, you would get a 10/2 Fiend or a 10/4 Cyclops, both of which are lethal. Making it an 11/2 Fiend or an 11/4 Cyclops makes no difference here.

I've all the cards that you named in my possession beside Artful Dodge . Actually agree that it might be better then Distortion Strike . Advantage of Distortion Strike is however that it costs 1 mana to have a unblockable creature 2 turns in a row.
I find it very hard to add cards like Brute Force or Mutagenic Growth to my deck. I pump my creatures by using spells that give my creatures protection / hexproof or make them unblockable. Brute Force might actually be better in this deck then Lightning Bolt . It might save my creature from dying from a shock spell.
Same goes for Gitaxian Probe . I've played these cards actually in previous versions of this deck. Although they are amazing cards to pump my creature with 3 extra damage for zero mana I really like to be able to play spells which will defend my creatures. Without creatures this deck is useless.
Thanks for the tips. I really apreciate that you made time to comment on my deck. I will definetely change my deck a little bit and take them into consideration. Might even add Brute Force . ;)

Geh, apparently I upvoted this before... I didn't recognize it because you changed it so much!!

Yeah I've been working on this deck a lot lately. I just really like building a deck around Kiln Fiend (and Nivix Cyclops ) . They have so much potential.
Thanks for trying to upvote me again. ;)

I personally prefer Diminish over Ovinize in the sideboard. as it is 1 mana and not quite as good ability but in this deck it let's you pump out another spell for Kiln Fiend and Nivix Cyclops

wow... didn't even know about Diminish . Way better for this deck than Ovinize . Ordering a playset right away! thanks :)

I don't feel like either of those cards really belong here. If I'm correct, the idea is to shrink their creature down to a manageable size so your Kiln Fiend can deal with it. However, your Kiln Fiend has the potential to become a 10/2 double strike, and nothing outraces that. I'd rather put in evasion to make sure he hits, because that's game.
Also, for extra redundancy, you could use Flamekin Harbinger .
December 17, 2013 8:11 a.m.
Have played Flamekin Harbinger together with Nivmagus Elemental for a while. It's pretty good but I prefer these creatures. I personally think it's slightly better.
Diminish
or Ovinize
have saved my creatures several times. For example from Pit Fight
.

Diminish is awesome, but have you ever heard about Turn to Frog ? The " lose all abilities " part is just freaking. I've got rid of many big stuff like Rakdos, Lord of Riots or Tarmogoyf and killed them with a innocent token...try, and let us know...
December 21, 2013 7:06 a.m.
Turn to Frog is very similar to Ovinize which I have in my sideboard. It's really good in this deck for defense. Saved my creature so many times.

The first time i've played Turn to Frog was with my U/W/R, and i was playing against a zombie.
so I've frogged his Phyrexian Crusader . And he said.... GG.
WHAHAH

I like Wee Dragonauts over the Cyclops.
I would also suggest you up the creature count by four. Apostle's Blessing while decent, could be sideboarded for a few bombs.
This could be an awesome Infect deck, should you choose to add green and go that route...
