"Damn you, James. When this is all over, you owe me a drink. I'll get the team together..." (~ Dr. Madison Lee, Fallout 3)

TLDR

This deck makes use of the energy () mechanic. The goal is to get as many creatures as possible. You do this by by having Power plant cards on the field that provide you with enough to use for your Factory cards that create creatures for you.

How does it work?:

Understanding this deck starts with understanding 2 important categories of cards:

These are the cards that create a ton of creatures onto your field. Most of them make use of (e.g. Efficient Construction, Whirler Virtuoso), but there are also some exceptions that don't need any (e.g. Efficient Construction, Mechanized Production).

Most of your Factory cards need , so you create some! You can see these cards as the necessary support this deck needs. No means no Factory cards can be used properly. Examples are Izzet Generatorium and Roil Cartographer.

Some cards are both Factory cards AND Power plant cards! These are often the most powerful (e.g. Automated Assembly Line, Phyrexian Ironworks and Stone Idol Generator).

Now you understand how the whole thing works, you can take a bigger step back and devide all cards in the deck into 2 major categories:

For those who don't know the abbreviation, it means 'Big Bad Evil Guy'. They are not evil for you, but for your opponents! The BBEG's in this deck are: Blaster Hulk, Liberty Prime, Recharged, Metalwork Colossus, Salvation Colossus, The Motherlode, Excavator, but also cards like Master of Etherium and Nettlecyst with enough artifacts on the field! You also have some pretty strong tokens, like Construct 6/12 C and Aetherborn X/X B. Most of these cards have one goal: hitting hard! They are good on their own, but work even better when assisted by other cards so they can hit even harder!
These are cards that, well, assist... Not much to explain here I guess? They make sure that you can use all of your BBEG's by either creating, resurrecting, protecting or buffing them. These are practically all the Factory cards AND Power plant cards, but also some more random cards that help you out a lot. Some of these cards give you and give you the possibility to use it for another useful thing, like drawing cards or giving a buff to a creature (e.g. Riddle Gate Gargoyle, Razorfield Ripper, Roil Cartographer, Tempest Harvester). Some cards give other cards protection, like Paladin Danse, Steel Maverick, Lightning Greaves and Swiftfoot Boots. Other cards make sure you don't have to pay too much mana, cards like Grand Arbiter Augustin IV, Etherium Sculptor and Starnheim Courser. Don't forget you have a whole army of smaller creatures too. They are mostly for protection for incomming attacks, but you can be aggressive with them if you need to! And last but not least, your Commander Dr. Madison Li is one of your most important assist cards. It creates , buffs cards with +1/+0, trample and haste, AND ressurects artifacts! I can give even more examples, but you probably get it by now...

Tips & Tricks

  • Be aware that artifacts are easy to remove! With most of your creatures being both Creatures AND Artifacts, will make them easier targets for removal spells and abilities for your opponents.
  • Don't rush the game! It's not a race after all... Building a board relatively fast will make you a target for sure! A good approach is to play slow and steady. Have a low profile when playing the game.
  • Always have some cards in hand. Don't play cards beacause you can! It's better to store them in your hand whenever you have an already fine board, because it's safer. You do this so you can easily recover from a major hit from a boardwipe (like Vandalblast). It's better to win a bit slower than lose fast right?

Would love your feedback!

Feel free to make suggestions, I love feedback! I'm aiming for a certain casual mediocre Power Level, so that's why I don't use cards like Guide of Souls, Gonti's Aether Heart or Chiss-Goria, Forge Tyrant that are too OP or expensive in my opinion (I drew the line at card:Aetherworks Marve.

Uninterrupted, with this deck you'll have a letal board around turn 8-11.
