This deck has been a pet-project of mine for a long time and has taken on many forms.

I think where Jund lacked, mardu takes up the slack. ie: white mana.. The decks biggest drawback currently I believe is the land base & I cannot effectively run Blood Moon as it shuts me down.

I will only outline unique or supportive cards to this build

Shambling Vent & Lavaclaw Reaches: The Manlands being some of the cheaper activation costs, these two cards are powerhouses in the deck, life link & pumpable? Yes please

Monastery Mentor: This guy is ridiculous! With only a handful of creatures the token triggers can get out of hand here. I have had grindy games (prison decks) where I have had over a dozen little monklets on the battlefield.

Soulfire Grand Master: I absolutely love this little dude! There's plenty of burn to make his main ability quite viable, and for a 2-drop he's more than proved his worth in this deck. Easily offsetting life loss from Fetch, Shock and Bob

Kolaghan's Command: Raw Utility - remove's a pesky artifact like Ensnaring Bridge, burns face, prevents life gain, recurs a creature from your grave. It's proven valuable as a 2-of.

Butcher of the Horde : Essesntially a flying Siege Rhino in my mind. Survives bolt, decay, gains you life, feeds off Monastery Mentor, Lingering Souls & Dark Confidant if he's worn out his welcome. Can easily swing the turn he hits the board and likely go vigilance and/or life link.

The current build is pretty simple.

Turns 1-3 are hand and board control: Ideally get a on the board and get to hand disruption via Thoughtseize or Inquisition of Kozilek and Path to Exile can keep threats at bay until you set up shop.

on turns 2-4 your setting up a board state:Dark Confidant gives you tempo and draw power, Soulfire Grand Master helps recoup life loss via fetch, shock and bob, and if your playing against a slower opponent, you can start swinging 2-4 damage!

Lingering Souls & Liliana of the Veil need no explanation.

The heavy spell ratio just feed the Grim Lavamancer, so start eating up that graveyard and burning face.

The all stars in deck for me have been Monastery Mentor & Butcher of the Horde who turns the traitorous bob into the sacrificial lamb that he knew he'd become. By this point you should be drawing into multiple spells to cast, or recurring Lingering Souls to swarm your opponent with little 1/1 prowess Monklets.

Chalice of the Void for 1? fear not. Just cast those 1 drops anyway.. Monastery Mentor still feeds off the energy.

This deck may not be tier 1 but it is damn fun to play. The interactions are great, and when the cards are in your favor the deck just gets out of hand.

Please offer up any and all suggestions as I would like to continue to improve on this.
