Test

I am looking to replace the following, as after a dozen or so playtests I am finding a lack of value in many situations with them:

  • Esix, Fractal Bloom. As nice as he is, he only triggers off of the FIRST time you create a token. Because of how many of these events unfold, what typically happens is I'll have Miirym, Sentinel Wyrm online and perhaps something such as Flameshadow Conjuring. I cast a dragon of any nature. Esix will change the token of, perhaps, Flameshadow Conjuring but not the token Miirym creates. Similarly, if I have already created a token for the turn, play Esix and play a Dragon, Esix won't trigger since I've already made my first token that turn. Meaning, Esix has now done nothing for a full turn.

  • Riku of Two Reflections has only come out twice, but in both times I found decent value. However, the mana costs required are not something I am sure about. Sure, Bramble Sovereign is similar in costing over , but Riku also costs an additional as well as and in addition to the , whereas Sovereign only costs a single color, even if she is two pips of it, at . What I find is the color commitment for Riku is difficult to justify. Also, as I lack instant and / or sorcery spells, I am only utilizing him 50% of the way, if at all. Lastly, he is only a 2/2 and thus does not even trigger cards such as Temur Ascendancy and Garruk's Uprising. So he's essentially harder to cast, harder to work around and doesn't draw me cards off of triggers - all for the same effect that Bramble Sovereign offers.

  • Atsushi, the Blazing Sky only really, truly, benefits me when he dies and that is too much of a waiting list to hold onto.

  • Gadrak, the Crown-Scourge, because if I have dealt enough noncombat damage to wrath the board to create a ton of treasures, I likely could have just directed it at face and cleared the boardstate anyway.

  • Galazeth Prismari has functionally zero utility in this deck.

What I can replace these with are cards such as Altered Ego to copy any Dragon on the field, and that spell can't be countered. So that's super helpful if an opponent is holding up their blue mana looking to mess with my game.

Likewise, Domri, Anarch of Bolas prevents all creature spells from being countered until end of turn. That's a fun little tidbit most players miss. They think you must spend the mana on the creature spell, and that one single spell can not be countered. Not true at all. You can add the mana, move to combat and lose it. 2nd main phase and cast 3 creatures. None can be countered.

Leyline of Lifeforce might actually be worth it in such a heavy creature-focused deck?

Sarkhan Unbroken is a good mid-ramp spell that draws or offers protection immediately after a wrath. The ultimate could win the game easily with the right combination of Dragons landing, too.

Sarkhan Vol is yet another haste enabler.

Sarkhan, Fireblood is another cheap and reliable ramp and hand fixer.

Back from the Brink gives me utility with dead Dragons, and with token doublers in play, that could get out of hand, quick.

The same thing applies with Feldon of the Third Path, giving me utility from fallen Dragons. And only the original token created with Feldon is sacrificed. Any created with, say, Parallel Lives is not.

Brudiclad, Telchor Engineer would actually enable haste as well, and polymorph all of my various tokens into whatever is the most advantageous at that time.
