This is a Green / White Dromoka themed deck. I say themed as Dromoka is the only clan but, there are many non-clan cards too.
In the early part of the game, its all about generating mana and bolstering creatures with counters.
Sylvan Caryatid + Voyaging Satyr
are there to keep the mana flowing so that my higher cost creatures like
Archetype of Endurance
can be summoned and provide protection with their power and abilities like hexproofing all my creatures. This helps ensure that once
Anafenza, Kin-Tree Spirit
is on the battlefield that she stays there to bolster my creatures.
Instants like
Dromoka's Command
ensure the counters keep coming, that my opponent doesn't destroy or pacify my creatures, and allows me to take out less powerful creatures with my own.
Once my creatures have their counters, it is time to bring out
Avatar of the Resolute
. He takes great advantage of the counters and provides power and protection n the air.
Thanks to
Brave the Sands
my bolstered creatures can protect against an opponent that attempts to over run me with weenies and weenie tokens. The best part being the protection doesn't come at the cost of being able to attack as vigilance is applied to all creatures I control.
Aegis of the Gods
is there to not only protect me, but also to keep
Nissa, Worldwaker
protected from my opponent's spells and activated / triggered abilities. Keeping
Nissa, Worldwaker
alive makes the end game that much faster as she can transform lands in to dragon creature lands with trample. Not only that, she can provide much needed mana to help get more expensive creatures out on the battlefield.
Nissa, Worldwaker
may appear to be the star of the deck but, she is really there to support Archetype of Endurance + Dragonlord Dromoka
as those two are the main stars of this deck. Once Archetype of Endurance + Dragonlord Dromoka
make it in to the battlefield, the end game is in sight.
Archetype of Endurance
may be expensive, but with the mana dorks and untapping of lands he should make it out early enough so that hexproof is applied to all creatures I control.
I'm looking forward to playing with this deck and would appreciate any feedback or help on making this a winner at FNM.
