Dragonlord Ugin's Prerogative

Disclaimer:

Probably like most other decks you'll see here on Tappedout that run removal and counters prior to rolling out the Dragons of Tarkir mid-way thru the game.

BUT! This deck was made also to play and outlast in multi-player games, as I tend to play against friends and family who prefer the casual format.

This deck was made with cards I have gotten in Fat Packs, booster packs (YEAH UGIN!), and was meant to be kept to the Tarkir block theme, so it won't be rolled over once the Standard format is done come October 2016.

Removals

  1. Standard decks roll best 1-v-1, hence running Ultimate Price and Infinite Obliteration. Then there's Foul-Tongued Invocation and Draconic Roar with their lovable Dragon triggers.

  2. Kolaghan's Command's four abilities are so relevant. I used it's "return target creature" mostly to scoop back Stratus Dancer to allow another counter/block. The others are used as needed.

  3. Then there's Arcbond and Crux of Fate for board sweeping capabilities when the board gets too chaotic (think multi-player free-for-alls).

  4. Sideboarded is Virulent Plague for decks that like to let stupid Goblins and Elves run around the board.

Counters

  1. I'm running 2x Silumgar's Scorn only because I have two. Best counter spell aside from a megamorphed Stratus Dancer. Rounding it out is Calculated Dismissal and Clash of Wills
