ultimate price maybe not so good main board atm since everyone is running hangarbacks gideon and mutlti stuff i think rending volley or self inflicted wounds would be much better

The reason that I'm running exactly two copies of Price is that while it doesn't have that many targets in some decks, it's very efficient against the creatures that it does kill and it generally finds something to kill. Switching a narrow removal spell for something even more narrow like Self-Inflicted/Volley/Surge seems meh. Ruinous Path is very awkward on the mana, is sorcery speed and destroys rather than exiles. Meh.

I have no idea what the current metagame at my lgs is though, so will see.

yeah i here ya it is quite narrow but because most decks are either azban gw or dark jeskai having self inflicted wounds hits all of them mantis rider, siege rhino soulfire grandmaster, anafanza, deathmist rapter den protecor. i suppose if want a less awkward one if your meta is more disperse perhaps maybe try complete disregard?

I have found Seismic Rupture to be very helpful mainboard, obliterates the weenie decks and the landfall / atarka decks before they get started

I feel like my matchup against random weenie decks is good enough to not play random mainboard sweepers. Will have to see after playing the deck more, though.

Also, why Seismic Rupture and not Radiant Flames? O_o

seismic rupture cant kill anything on your board other than a hangar back because of the prowess trigger on seeker making him a 3 3 but only two damage so :/

Kolaghan's Command is an excellent way to pay 12 , which is quite a bit in my current (very shitty) economical situation. It also seems kind of awkward in the deck - I don't really have good targets for the Raise Dead -ability and I already have almost too many removal spells for small creatures. Would probably at least try one or two if I had them but at the moment they're too expensive.

The cards don't really do much in the deck. Seeker of the Way is really good because it can very easily gain me upwards of six life while dealing good amounts of damage that really adds up with stuff like Draconic Roar. Chief and co. really only provide a meh anthem effect that I can achieve much better with something like Sorin. Thanks for the comment though.

326, I love where Mardu tokens is at right now as well. I like Duress better in the main board than Wild Slash, I think it offers better disruption. I would also suggest trimming a couple lands down to about 23 and the D-Lord to get a few Hangarback Walker in there. It synergizes well with the token strategy and is quite resilient.

Duress also most of the time does absolutely nothing to the board, especially on the short term. The deck's tempo needs help anyway, which is exactly why the one mana removal (FImpulse/WSlash) is so good.

Hangarback is something that I've considered. The problem is that it's just not worth it to spend that much money on cards that will be rotating after not that long anyway - especially since they can very often just be completely unplayable when Silkwrap and such are popular options. Just not worth it.

Playing 23 lands with this deck's curve, even without the Dragonlord, is borderline suicidal. I enjoy actually casting my spells, thank you very much.

I would consider Gideon if he didn't cost a kidney. The double white is kinda rough, though, and I'm not convinced he's better than Sorin in the deck.

Kolaghan, Storm's Fury + Secure the Wastes. You cast a big Secure on their endstep, then dash Kolaghan on your main and attack for loads. It's not quite infinite in truth :P

The joke is that it's reminiscent of the Twin Exarch combo (Splinter Twin + Deceiver Exarch, in case you happen to not be familiar with it) from Modern: you play a spell on their end step, then kill them on your own turn with another spell.

The scary thing about splinter twins besides being infinite was that it can happen on turn 4.

As for this deck I see it has the idea to control your opponent until you can get a good hit through eventually. It seems like a solid base for the deck as it is kinda like a jeskai black deck with a spike for damage to win. Like the concept.

Tried to come up with cards that would help. But shot them all down myself, because you have similar cards in deck that perform the same task. The cards I thought of were Foul-Tongue Invocation and Monastery Mentor.

How many do you think I should be running?

I'm playing quite a few expensive cards and can't really afford to get stuck on lands - I can stall the game by killing off some creatures but I'd much rather be casting some stuff that actually matters on curve. The manlands also help with not getting too mana-flooded.
