You could also switch your general to Olivia Voldaren. Though you would have to slightly reconstruct your deck it opens it up to dual colors. It also adds to the theme of stealing your opponents critters while growing Olivia. Though most people try to give her deathtouch to insta-kill for . I will add though, that nobody wants their toys vaporized or stolen and Olivia paints a big target on her head (Drana is far less of a threat to people). She can also be mana hungry like Drana. Whomever you choose Blade of the Bloodchief can serve you well.

A word of advice - try to avoid building tribal if you can help it. It won't add to the the theme of the deck and you'll more likely than not just underpower it becasue you want to run some vampires over good cards for the sheer sake that they're vampires. There are only a few good tribal decks and vampires aren't one of them (well not at the moment at least).

As for the whole "stax my oppoennts and reanimate their stuff" strategy - Chainer, Dementia Master should at least be part of the 99, if not the commander himself.

I did use to run chainer however I never found myself casting it

Was that for fear of having him killed and everything exiled? or was the life loss something that worried you?

There was never anything good to take from graveyards the life loss don't bother me so much I kept my stuff in my graveyard so I could reanimate with stuff like dread return it just seemed like a rather slow card in the deck

Also Reanimate would be a good addition, it works great with Entomb and Eldrazi.

Matrixxx999 strip mine brings to much hate and is only good if you run crucible of worlds as you get multiple uses out of it and there is a better ancient tomb that doesn't deal damage to you, diabolic revelations helps me tutor for the perfect hand , tragic slip is run because people run indestructible, black sun's zenith is so much better as if it doesn't kill the creature then it lowers its power and shuffles back into my library, entomb and reanimate are good ideas though

The only card similar to Ancient Tomb is Temple of the False God (or City of Traitors which isn't applicable to a deck like this). And Ancient Tomb is much better than temple. While the life loss can be a problem if not monitored, Urborg, Tomb of Yawgmoth fixes it when you don't need double mana.

Enabling an early Drana is super important as the longer the game goes, the harder you have to work.

I may have to add that as it would swing the game in my favour

Agree with enpc. As for Toxic... It's up to you. But i think you don't need to make your opponents creatures weaker, you need to eliminate them. Toxic will kill all for 3 mana. It's poweer is undisputed. Anoter card that would be insane in mono color black is Liliana of the Dark Realms.

Nine times out of ten zenith kills all however I play against decks that get ridiculously big creatures quickly and can swing for game so in order to kill them id have to pay quite a lot of life, I can see why people run toxic though in pure life gain decks and yeah I definitely need to get my hands on that Lili

Grave Pact > Dictate of Erebos unless of course you really need the flash.

Nirkana Revenant is an absolute powerhouse and has won me just as many games as Drana has surprisingly enough, either with Revenant swinging or by pumping extra mana into Drana's ability.

I see you have some reanimate cards and some token producers, perhaps add Anowon, the Ruin Sage to help control your opponents? I don't think it should effect you near as much as it will effect your opponents.

Also, I strongly suggest finding a spot for an Expedition Map so that you can find your Coffers when you have Urborg and vice versa.

Orcinbob for nirkana what should I remove and I do now have an anowon so il be adding that as well, definitely going to swap dictate for grave pact and I need the expedition map

That's always the question isn't it? lol

Just anecdotal experience, Painful Quandary never did what I wanted it to do and it always felt very underwhelming when I played it. I also had 5 drops that were way more impactful and had a quicker impact as well so even when I did have it, I never wanted to play it. Perhaps that?

Also, how often do you use Silence the Believers on more than one target? That seems like a pretty steep cost to exile even 2 creatures. Have you thought about using Ashes to Ashes? The life gain you have in your deck will practically negate the downside.

Also, I see you have Songs of the Damned in your maybe board, consider Bubbling Muck as well. Be careful though when you cast it and have Urborg, Tomb of Yawgmoth on the field, because it specifies that any player will get an additional black mana when they tap a swamp.

I have a deck similar to this one, could you take a look at it and see if there are any cards you would add in or take out? +1 from me, love this deck
