I had a deck similar to this. For better power i would include Eidolon of Countless Battles or Ethereal Armor . I prefer Eidolon simply because he stays on the field if the bestowed dies, but ethereal is cheaper and you can gain first strike. A deck like this needs to stay relatively cheap. I would remove Spectra Ward Dictate of Erebos and Doomwake Giant . Giant is a nice card, but that late into the game reduces his usefulness if he cant be played early. I do like dictate but it just doesn't fit in with the deck, Skybind would do a lot more for you than dictate. Blind Obedience is cheap and has an extort plus gives you defense which fits very well with your deck but it would be out of rotation with the new set.

The last thing i would suggest would be to sub out Erebos, God of the Dead for another Athreos, God of Passage . Erebros with what your deck would be designed to do would cause way too much damage to you if you try to use his ability since your deck drains you as well. I would however keep it to play against life gain decks

Thanks for goldencrisis 's comment.

I agree that the cost of Dictate of Erebos is a bit high and does not fit the deck well.

For Spectra Ward , I treat it as a mean of protection in the final hits in late game. I haven't used it so I don't know if it works like what I think. If I remove it, I may need to add some other means to protect my creatures. (Still thinking...)

I like Doomwake Giant and I think it secure some mid-to-late game competitiveness for my deck. It is cheap (in $) so I can try it to see whether it fits.

I know Athreos, God of Passage is overall a better choice than Erebos, God of the Dead but I don't think I can afford to have two. (They are expensive!) I am not sure whether Erebos, God of the Dead 's card drawing ability would drain me too much. I put it simply for countering lifegain decks and provide a way to draw cards. (Only 2 Read the Bones is not enough...)

Skybind looks like a solid choice. Its ability looks very interesting and is useful both for triggering constellation effect and giving troubles to the opponent.

Eidolon of Countless Battles is definitely a good power boost. The problem is that I need to find a card slot to place him in...

I think I misunderstand the ability of Skybind . Is it really worthwhile to add that 3WW card in a deck that does not form a combo with it. (All non-land permanents are enchantment so I cannot bounce them)

Its not for you, its to use against your opponents to move away high profile creatures so you can launch attacks

Id sideboard it against non-enchantment creature decks.

Try playing 25 lands and some copies of Extinguish All Hope in the main

Your deck is a bit too scattered to play with any consistency. I highly recommending running 4x most cards, and having very few 1x and 2x.

Let's get those 2 ofs out of the way first:

I would run x3 Banishing Light and x2 Hero's Downfall (5 total removal);

as well as 2x Feast on the Fallen and 2x Armament of Nyx (4 total buffs).

Total Non-Creatures = 9

Creatures:

Remove :

x1 Doomwake Giant x2 Herald of Torment

Add:

4x Master of the Feast

2x Athreos, God of Passage

4x Brain Maggot or 4x Spiteful Returned (Not both)

2x Fate Unraveler (-1)

4x Grim Guardian

4x Nyx-Fleece Ram (+1)

4x Underworld Coinsmith

4x Eidolon of Countless Battles

Total Creatures = 28

Total Non-Land = 37, Land = 23

35 Enchantments is nothing to scoff at. With 8 Constellation cards you're bound to be triggering with every drop. Eidolon of Countless Battles has 30 cards that trigger its +1/+1. Life gain with Underworld Coinsmith & Nyx-Fleece Ram will keep you afloat just fine.

Master of the Feast is an incredibly powerful 3 drop, worth the negative aspect. Couple him with Eidolon of Countless Battles or Armament of Nyx or Spiteful Returned , and you've got lethal in 2 or 3 turns.

Planeswalkers really do nothing for this deck, and seeing as you seem strapped for cash (comment #2) it brings down the cost of your deck.

I hope these are helpful, from one MTGer to another!

Segasaurus I think that your list is more aggro-oriented, with the use of Master of the Feast and Eidolon of Countless Battles . However, the deck I would like to build is more of a control deck, with plenty of removals and disruptions.

I am still thinking about the use of Doomwake Giant and Herald of Torment . I need more playtest to judge whether they are useful for my deck.

I would recommend Utter End over Silence the Believers - you're rarely going to cast it with an extra strive with 23 lands, I doubt you'll see other enchantment heavy decks (see below), and Utter End can hit 'walkers.

I'd also look at getting Temple of Silence to replace the Scoured Barrens - still comes into play tapped, but I'd argue the scry effect is > +1 life as you're not running things like Sunbond or Ajani's Pridemate that want you to gain.

Big problem I see: Back to Nature is basically a hard counter to your entire deck. There's a lot more enchantment hate out there: Erase , Deicide , Revoke Existence . I've seen Back to Nature in a lot of lists, and I've even seen it AND Erase - what's your game plan vs. an opponent who runs some removal main and boards in enchantment hate?

Also, something to look at, as I have them in my drain deck which is very similar to this and since it's a black/white and mostly enchantment creatures. Odunos River Trawler I have 2 in mine. They come out onto the field and bring an enchantment creature from the graveyard to the battlefield. Awesome for Underworld Coinsmiths or the Grim Guardians as they'll trigger constellations. Also, added perk, you pay a white, and sac the guy, you can bring something out again. So really, you throw 2 of those in, you have 2 revive spells.

Also, a planeswalker to throw in would be Liliana Vess Helps a little bit of control, and that ulti, with everything coming back onto the field, makes good fun.
