Even in the EDH format, running these colors, I still feel like Advent of the Wurm is just too good to pass on.

Akamatsu after play testing with it for a while, It wasn't as good as it is in Standard. I wanted it to be good so I could run it, but there are other cards that are better than Advent of the Wurm in the format.

A really good combo for this deck would be Sunbond . It synergises with your comander, and makes an infinite combo with Spike Feeder if you put it in. +1!

Minelia5 I'm not a big fan of the Sunbond Spike Feeder combo. I'll probably side it in if the meta calls for infinite combos.
Thanks for the +1 :)

CkajLanoa the sword doesn't fit the deck's strategy. A token every time a creature connects is too slow, which is also the reason why I don't run Wayfaring Temple

I'm aware you dropped the lifegain theme, but shouldn't there be a place for a Serra Avatar ? You have enough ramp to get this out, and it'll double your life then double it's own p/t.
June 18, 2014 7:38 p.m.
i have the same gripe about Serra Avatar and Ajani Goldmane , the lifegain is enticing but it won't matter if you're facing a suited up general waiting to deal 21 damage the next turn. Definitely fun, but in a game of multiplayer it won't matter as much and it'll definitely make you a big target too.
June 18, 2014 10:26 p.m.
I'm not saying use ajani for the life gain, I'm saying use his ultimate, then populate!
June 19, 2014 6:32 p.m.
CkajLanoa Ajani Goldmane is useless in an empty board. I know you were talking about the ultimate. He's incredibly inefficient, considering that to get there, you have 2 turns of basically nothing.

Increasing Devotion is great with flashback to boot, a board wipe would be a good idea to, maybe an Hour of Reckoning , that way you don't only depend on your Austere Command .
June 19, 2014 10:50 p.m.
Sharkhuntr I used to have Increasing Devotion in the deck, but it was replaced as soon as I got Storm Herd . It doesn't have flashback, but with trostani as General it's pretty rare that I find myself at a low life total for Storm Herd to be not efficient. I have considered putting it back in, it's just a matter of what is not good enough to be cut from the deck. As for wraths, I have 2 wraths in the deck, Rout and Austere Command , although I have two others in the form of Elesh Norn, Grand Cenobite (for tiny things) and Elspeth, Sun's Champion (for big things). I actually had Hour of Reckoning in my early builds, but i found that I didn't always need a wrath, so I dropped it in favor of another token generator, plus if my play group runs tokens then Hour of Reckoning won't hit as hard.
Thanks for the comment :)

WexAndywn I had that in the deck not long ago. I decided to cut it because I think 4 mana for a 1/1 is not very good. If it provided colored mana, I would've reconsidered.

Maybe Gaea's Cradle it expensive but i think it good in this deck
June 23, 2014 1:59 p.m.
luclem if Gaea's Cradle didn't have that price tag, it would be in the deck.
If I have room in my budget, I might buy this or Savannah , just to treat myself.
Thanks for the comment :)

No Growing Ranks or Trostani's Summoner ? The summoner is particularly good once doubling season hits the field.
June 23, 2014 10:18 p.m.
Quicksilver Growing Ranks is too slow for my taste. Trostani's Summoner 's tokens are very bland, there are a ton of better options that can take the 7 drop spot.

Okay so While playing with my deck based on this build I had this happen. I ult'd Ajani, Caller of the Pride for 38 cats and killed one guy. Then sometime later in the game I got Sun Titan out and got Ajani back on the field. Turn after I got Doubling Season out and gave sun titan jump and shoot killing Ajani and killed another guy. then I got Ajani back out and Ult'd him again for 76 cats to kill the last guy with. :D

canterlotguardian The decks no longer focused on a lifegain strategy, so Lifegift is out.
