Fair enough!! i will admit Sacred Mesa
seems slow but with all the mana your producing it get's really effective quiclky. but from what i can tell you already produce some effective tokens. i woiuld consider it over Entreat the Angels
wich is slow (very powerful, but slow) in my opinion. keep up the good work. Selesnya rules !!!

Ze_Geuse81 I like Entreat the Angels because with Sensei's Divining Top I can miracle it on my opponents' turns.

I think this is a great build, I have a deck with the same commander. I have played with this deck many times, The general idea is to get out tokens, ramp them up and smash the competition. Could you take a look at it, and offer up some suggestions on how I could make it more competitive? Wow, your tokens are so big (suggestions)

I just think that Voice of Resurgence would be perfect in this deck because ...
- chump block a fattie and get a creature with X/X - the size of your army.
- use some sort of graveyard retrieval (which I noticed a lot of in the description) to bring it back.
- give your opponents something to think about in the declare attackers phase.
However, I also understand you have your reasons for doing things and it is your deck. Great though, I like it very much :)

cian114 Do you think that Craterhoof Behemoth or Overwhelming Stampede is better for this type of build. I'm trying to decide for my deck Big Damn Heroes. Thoughts?

If you don't mind losing friends - Triumph of the Hordes
November 12, 2014 5:28 p.m.
Vinman 100% go with Craterhoof Behemoth. He's easily reused using Karmic Guide, Restoration Angel, or Eternal Witness and has an overall better synergy with the deck because he is a tutorable win con.
ChiefBell Hm, I've never considered Triumph of the Hordes, i'll probably playtest it some day. I love me my Craterhoof Behemoth.
Thanks for the comments! :)

Conjurer's Closet for the awesome ETB triggers you got going. It makes it just fun and annoying to your opponents. +1 very nice deck.

I see that you like to use graveyard shenanigans. I also noted that you needed to find a way to keep getting Eternal Witness into your graveyard. Why not run Phyrexian Altar? i use it in my My Hand got stuck in the cookie jar - help wanted! deck. You can use it to help cast things early on or to save them from Swords to Plowshares.

I didn't take the time to read other people's comments so forgive me if I make a suggestion that has already been discussed. Regal Force is a powerful card draw engine that excels in token builds like, this, and the only deck it might be better in is elf tribal, just make sure not to dray your whole library by accident! Brimaz, King of Oreskos is a powerful early game beater that gets in for damage and produces tokens. Voice of Resurgence is an awesome way to help combat counter-magic and leaves behind a token to populate post board-wipe. Asceticism helps to protect your creatures.Vitu-Ghazi, the City-Tree can get you some advantage in the late game if you run out of spells to cast. Freyalise, Llanowar's Fury is a good token generator that also offers some utility with the -2 and can draw a lot of cards with the -6 if it lives that long. Eight-and-a-Half-Tails can help protect your biggest, scariest guys from removal, and Spike Feeder can gain you infinite life and put infinite counters on all your other creatures when used with Archangel of Thune. Mwonvuli Beast Tracker doesn't have the most targets in your deck, but two of the options are Acidic Slime and Woodfall Primus, so it can help you find answers. Since you are running City of Brass you may want to consider Mana Confluence as it is almost strictly better, even if it is usually the same thing. Sylvan Tutor helps find your Craterhoof Behemoth, and Natural Order puts in right into play at a ridiculously low cost. Primal Vigor acts as a pseudo Doubling Season that doesn't double planeswalkers. Oran-Rief, the Vastwood can add a lot of power to the board at a very reasonable price. Mosswort Bridge and Windbrisk Heights seem easy enough for you to trigger and getting free cards from your lands is nice. Aura Mutation gives you an instant speed way to deal with enchantments (I imagine Ghostly Prison and Propaganda are nightmares for you if you don't have an answer) while adding to your board state. Wayfaring Temple and Hero of Bladehold are powerful early game creatures that deal damage quickly, and Hero seems especially good because of the battlecry. I really like your deck, and +1 from me, hope this comment helps!

Sorry for the really long comment, should have added some line spaces, my bad.

Thanks for the comments, jaeger_Konig and bob111634!
Kinda late reply, sorry.
First off, I already have plenty of ways to recur Eternal Witness, like Karmic Guide, Reveillark, and Sun Titan. I don't need too much recursion.
Next, I have considered a lot of cards for this deck. It is what some would call my, "pet-deck." Regal Force is a powerful card but my tokens are not primarily green, often times I have more white tokens than green tokens, and vice versa. I didn't include the force because he might turn into a dead card if I dont have green creatures. Harmonize is nice and cheap though, so I opted for that instead. Vitu-Ghazi, the City-Tree, Asceticism, Brimaz, King of Oreskos, Voice of Resurgence, Wayfaring Temple, and Hero of Bladehold have all been in early iterations of this deck, I cut them because they didn't make too big of a splash when they entered the battlefield. Good in other formats, but lackluster in EDH. I don't like infinite combos, so I specifically don't run a Spike Feeder. There's too many creatures for Eight-and-a-Half-Tails to protect. Freyalise, I still need to playtest. The hideawya lands, I'm not a fan of, I find them to be too slow. Mana Confluence is too expensive financially for what it does. I already have plenty of tutors, more often than not I only really need to tutor for Craterhoof Behemoth when I feel that I can win. Aura Shards does a lot of work for this deck, already. Primal Vigor, I'm not a fan of.

My comment was more focused on getting Eternal Witness into the graveyard not back out. I'm not sure if you missed that or not, but that is what i was getting at.
Also have you ever considered running Titania, Protector of Argoth? I could see it in the deck with all the fetch lands that your running and also it can go with Acidic Slime and Woodfall Primus if need be. Also if you decided to run Armageddon since you are already running Crucible of Worlds it could be another way to give yourself a good advantage. Just a few thoughts that would be fun!

Also bob111634 why would you consider Mana Confluence to be a better card than City of Brass? I guess if an opponent has a way to tap down your permanents they could hurt/kill you with it. However, damage can be negated, as is the case with City of Brass, but loss of life cannot be, which is the case of Mana Confluence. I am just wondering what your reasoning's were. Thanks!
December 2, 2014 10:29 a.m.
jaeger_Konig Oops, I misread your first comment. I'm not a big fan of the tokens that titania produces, so I didn't really consider her. There is synergy with armaggeon and crucible of worlds, but Armaggedon is one of my most hated cards. I'm not a big fan of MLD...

i can understand where your coming from. I hate when someone casts armageddon and can come back from it way better than i can. It made me want to stop playing with them because they seemed to do it every game. what do you think of Phyrexian Altar? if you don't like that one how about Ashnod's Altar?
December 2, 2014 1:51 p.m.
jaeger_Konig I have considered both Phyrexian Altar and Ashnod's Altar in the past, but after changing the deck quite a bit, sac'ing tokens usually detracts to the strategy of the deck, so I had to cut them.

I had a deck like this once, and Mimic Vat was insane. Basically, none of you dudes will ever die, because you can populate the token >:-) Also, with all your fetches, Lotus Cobra is good. Azusa, Lost but Seeking and Crucible of Worlds with either a fetch, especially a Wasteland or Strip Mine is a pain in the ass for your opponents. Oh, and consider running Birthing Pod. I think it will work in this build but idk really. I kind of feel like Asceticism is better then Privileged Position. Also, if you have Archangel of Thune, you should probably throw in a Spike Feeder, as they infinitely combo, giving you a lot of life and big creatures. It basicaly makes Tooth and Nail entwined GG. Although, for some reason, two of my friends decided that they wont play with my deck that pretty much only wins off infinate combos, so if that is a problem dont add it in :-). Im sorry if any of these have already been suggested. I was to lazy to looks at all the comments.

Nacatl War-Pride has some pretty notable synergies with various other cards in your deck - most notably Trostani, since populated copies of the tokens it makes will stick around after the end step and since it'll gain you a ton of life. Ditto for Rhys - activating his second ability can create some truly backbreaking board states pretty much out of nowhere. It also combos well with Cathars' Crusade and Aura Shards.
January 14, 2015 2:53 a.m.
I'm in the middle of putting together a Trostani deck myself, have for awhile and I really like the look of your deck. A lot of the things I have thought about putting in mine are in yours.
What do you think about White Sun's Zenith and the new Secure the Wastes? Do you think it would be TOO excessive coupled in with Martial Coup and Entreat the Angels? I would assume you'd be hard pressed to find things to cut to fit those in if you wanted them.
Also how has playing with Freyalise, Llanowar's Fury gone for you? When I saw that card spoiled my first thought was, I need to get this into a G/W token deck.
March 23, 2015 7:33 a.m.
skoo Both White Sun's Zenith and Secure the Wastes are good choices, and they definitely have a place even if you're running the Coup and the Entreat. BUT, the Zenith and Secure the Wastes are two late game cards, which you may or may not have enough mana for, for them to be impactful. That said, they're good if you want to go wide and have anthems out. I personally don't like the anthem strategy, though.
I ended up not testing Freyalise. I couldn't find anything to cut out of the deck for her, lol. I might test her at some point, replacing Acidic Slime, but I'm not sure yet.
Good luck with your deck! Feel free to ask me anything about my other card choices.

Im not sure if anyone already recommended this but Phyrexian Processor would be crazy in a Trostani deck
March 31, 2015 1:51 a.m.
- Phyrexian Processor
- Mimic Vat
- Soul Foundry
- Abuse those cards
- Make ppl Shit their pants

Ze_Geuse81 it seems slow to me. One of the changes I've made is to increase the ramp and card/land advantage to get to Craterhoof Behemoth , so I don't know about Sacred Mesa
