Ramped-up its currently too expensive for me. But I'll add it to the short list.

I love this deck... What are your thoughts for updates with the new sets. I would love to see your up dates.

Corigan there really hasn't been a card printed recently that got me excited (for this deck). I have two cards I want to test, though: Ulvenwald Hydra (for the land fetch) and Traverse the Ulvenwald (to see if I can consistently pull off delirium)

Hi @Cian114: I was looking at those as awell as Seasons Past and maybe even better Seasons Past to be a more costly but more effective wrath engine.
I've been also thinking that keeping our hands stocked can be tricky and that perhaps Soul of the Harvest or Masked Admirers might deserve a spot in the deck list or Staff of Nin, What are your thoughts>

When I say our... I mean me.. I'm not willing to put enough money down for Crucible of Worlds or Sensei's Divining Top... could you recommend some alternatives? I was thinking Life from the Loam? or the ones mentioned above...
Sorry for the double post I wish I could edit my posts.

Corigan it took me about 2 years to get to this point of the deck, so at one point it didn't have top or crucible. That said, card draw in GW is hard to come by, usually expensive.
Howling Mine type cards are great options. Soul of the harvest is great, but you'd need to have a lot of creatures to cast to make him work. Masked admirers is extremely narrow.
Card advantage in GW does not come from card draw. In my experience, ramp and tutors are your best friends. You could try Fierce Empath and Brutalizer Exarch as great options and they synergize with soul of the harvest.

Corigan green Suns zenith is not too expensive. Garruk, Primal Hunter, Garruk, Caller of Beasts, and Ajani, Mentor of Heroes are great pw's to consider for card advantage. Garruk's Packleader could be great as well.
I have cards that I always include when I can, my pet cards so to speak. Cultivate, Kodama's Reach, Sun Titan, Karmic Guide, Reveillark, Yavimaya Elder, Eternal Witness, Courser of Kruphix, Oracle of Mul Daya to name a few

I feel I need your exact reasoning for saying "nothing really excites me about the new set" when Cryptolith Rite now exists. Now to be fair I can understand why its not in this particular card deck, as it would be stupid to use something like Giant Adephage as a mana dork, but why not even look at it?
I really need to know, as I've got inklings to throw it into a Simic color deck that for the moment is transitioning away from Vorel into Kruphix. You seem like you have better insight on what the best position a card like this should hold in a commander deck.
April 9, 2016 12:44 a.m.
TheRedGoat back when I first built the deck, I had a Citanul Hierophants in the deck. The rite is just a strictly better version. After about a year playing with it, I removed it because it didn't yield me a card, same with cryptoloth rite. Yes it ramps you, but after a wrath it won't help you.
I've steered the deck from a "token deck with good stuff" to "a deck with my favorite cards with some tokens sprinkled around."
When I said that "nothing from recent sets excite me," I was specifically talking about cards for this deck. Ant Queen with Cryptolith Rite can be synergistic, as an example.

cian114: I completely understand where you are coming from. When it comes to Gr/Wh Commander, nothing in this set is a "must have" card. Only things I looked at that was Seasons Past and Declaration in Stone in the Selesnya realm.
April 9, 2016 1:18 a.m.
snotice Declaration in Stone is only good against tokens, though. I guess you could hit one thing, too.
I looked at Seasons Past too. My problem with it is my curve, I don't think I'll be able to consistently have cards of different CMC's to make it worth it.
April 9, 2016 1:38 a.m.
Oh, I agree with you for both cards. There my be other decks at which they work, but not sure about them in this deck.
Moreover, I'm going to wait for Declaration in Stone to be $3 or less or if I get one via pack won at an FNM. Your deck does work as always, nonetheless.

@cian114 So essentially the best place for it would be in a deck that can either prevent/recover from a wrath effect, or outpace one. And in the case of Simic colors it would be more about the prevention of wrath effects with counter-spells than trying to recover with mass token generators and green recovery spells.

TheRedGoat my experience with Citanul Hierophants was subpar, so Im more inclined to be skeptical of Cryptolith Rite. If you can consistently spew creatures for it, and if you have mana sinks then go for it. If you really want to use it, test it a bunch of times.
My problem with cards like these, is that you kinda need to get them early game. They're next to useless late game (unless you have mana sinks).

TheRedGoat by mana sinks I mean cards where you can dump a bunch of mana into, like Ant Queen or if you're looking for a win con, Blue Sun's Zenith

@cian114 I get what you mean and I'm actually partial to cards that scale like that late game. My real trouble currently is making sure whether I have the cards the consistently pump out/protect creatures to make more mana to, most likely, pump out more creatures.
Thousand-Year Elixir is a great combo piece with Cryptolith Rite that I own, but I've been struggling a little on finding an actual win con while I had Vorel of the Hull Clade as the commander. That's sorta why I've started to move into a Kruphix, God of Horizons deck style that is almost completely non-aggressive. Not that it would be pillow-fort or group hug, just non-aggressive (at least until I pull something like a Clone Legion off while an elf cancer deck is at its peak).
Regardless, thanks for the advice! If you find you need help yourself on some other deck I'd be glad to return the favor as best I can.

TheRedGoat send me a link to the UG deck you're building, It'd be easier for me to help. UG has been one of my favorite color combos in recent years.
