Since you are doing a vampire tribal deck have you considered including Cryptic Gateway ? It could prove useful

Maybe, the mana cost seems a bit high though. Not sure though, thanks for the tip!

i might trade out Consuming Vapors for Tribute to Hunger . just personal preference... the rebound is sweet, but i like instants. i also try not to run Coat of Arms just because it works for my opponents creatures too... playing against anything that makes tokens gets stupid. instead i would run Illusionist's Bracers . they are soooo good on drana, and really anything else with an activated ability.

I started running Illusionist's Bracers in my Vorel EDH, and I must say I'm happy with the results of it in that deck. Never considered running it in this one as well, thanks for the tip!

It's a pretty insane equipment. My Drana EDH isn't vampire tribal like yours, but it might give you some ideas... or ideas for suggestions

Ashes to Ashes and Cannibalize for good removals

A land you might find worth running is Forbidden Orchard . You don't need the mana fixing but it gives your opponent a token which your general can fly over but more importantly gives you a legal target (thats not your own stuff) so you can continue to buff your general.

One other card you might consider is Phyresis / Grafted Exoskeleton . With your general it can be a 1 hit kill.

Phyresis sure is a good addition. It feels a bit cheap to win that way though, haha, but it's certainly worth looking into that card!

I'm not sure about Forbidden Orchard though. I rarely run into the problem of having no targets, and I like to keep the number of non-swamp lands relatively low because of Crypt Ghast , Cabal Coffers and Nirkana Revenant .

Thanks!

Hmm.. maybe Eldrazi Monument (If you've got enough token/cannon fodder) to take care of the board wipe problem? Bloodghast would be a happy sacrifice!

Toxic Deluge is one of the best black board wipes. Highly recommend.

Sword of Feast and Famine

Thanks for the tips!

I don't think I have enough fodder for Eldrazi Monument , so I'll pass on that. Toxic Deluge is a definite maybe, I think it would be good to replace a spot removal card with it. I just recently added Decree of Pain , and together with Mutilate I'm not sure if I need more board wipes. I'll see if I run into trouble later. I really like the paying life part; life is never really a problem with this deck.

I'm ashamed to say I haven't given much thought to any of the swords. Which is stupid because Sword of Feast and Famine would be a killer in this deck. I'm definitely including one of those. Any suggestions on what to remove? I'm thinking of Coat of Arms , but it's one of the very few tribal interactions in the deck, haha :)

I'd take out Consuming Vapors and Expedition Map ~ reason being consuming is target player sacrifices a creature, they choose. Switch that for Toxic. Sword will be so much better for mana.

Consuming Vapors works wonders against voltron commanders though, and Expedition Map is also an important fetcher for Thespian's Stage /Cabal Coffers /Dark Depths , so I'm not sure about swapping those.

Perhaps Bloodlord of Vaasgoth could go, because I feel that the number of creatures is a bit low to make him very efficient, which is the same reasoning as why I'm starting to dislike Coat of Arms .

Hmm. Good point. Then , take out Coat.. I'm not seeing enough creatues/token producers for it. Coat is usually best with 30+ creatures of one tribe in a deck.

Also, because I love mono black, one of my favorite win cons is Hatred ~ use only if you're comfortable with it in your deck.

If you want to run Eldrazi Monument then youll need Eon Hub , whitch opens up the door for all the best demons

Why are you running Blood Artist? I feel like he doesn't add much to the deck. It's not like you run any combo chains with him and ouside of thats hes just a 0/1 that is a bit annoying. Similarly you run Grave Pact but no real way to abuse it. No sac outlets and very little token genration means that would use it relatively defensively, but then its only somewhat helpful. You already have Butcher of Malakir, you may as well put in another tutor like Increasing Ambition to just find him instead.

Yeah you're right. The thing I like about Blood Artist is that he just sits there giving some value during some turns, and even when there is a boardwipe he will give quite some value. Your comment made me think about Kalastria Highborn though, I feel like she is even worse than Blood Artist in terms of value over the game. I don't think I've ever played the black mana cost to make someone lose two life.

Increasing Ambition is definitely a good replacement for her. Thanks! I'm not sure yet about replacing Grave Pact. It's true that I use it mostfly defensively, but I'd have to look for a good replacement card then. Perhaps an Extraplanar Lens for some more mana accelleration.

Extraplanar Lens is very good. The thing is though that you should probably consider upgarding your Swamps to Snow-Covered Swamps. It means that unless there are a few enterprising people who are anticipating Extraplanar Lens and snow lands, you will be the only person who benefits from the boost.

add a Coat of Arms!

I've tried Coat of Arms before, but the build isn't tribal enough to really profit from it. It can backfire too easily if I play against token decks :( I think a more creature-heavy build would benefir more from it.

I know its not super on theme for vampires, but Skull Clamp + Bitterblossom is really nasty, throw in Grave Pact and its just gross. also, the 'free' blocker you get every turn is nothing to scoff at. You could probably cut a swamp for here, as you have a lot of lands.

I got a question for you. How do you change the color of the lettering and how do you paste images in your discription? Thank you

Have you considered Overseer of the Damned? It comes down, makes a zombie and then makes another one every time Drana kills a creature. I'm currently testingit in my Drana Voltron build but it seems good.

griffstick, you can use HTML formatting on Tappedout, so that's how I format everything. Check out this site for tips on HTML: http://www.w3schools.com/tags/att_font_color.asp

enpc, it looks very good. I'm certainly keeping that one in mind in case I move away even more from the vampire tribe feel, thanks!

nayrash5, I recently removed Kalastria Highborn for an extra swamp because I felt like she was underperforming. I could add Bitterblossom yeah, but the price tag is a bit high for me at the moment.
