Thanks guys! I actually don't use it often, it just sits in a case on display. I'm too afraid something will happen to the paint or something when playing, haha.

How do you feel about Doubling Cube for ramp and Expedition Map for tutoring for things like Cabal Coffers?
September 5, 2015 11:03 p.m.
Expedition Map is already in the list, and it's a great card indeed :)
The thing about Doubling Cube is that it only breaks even when you already have 6 mana available. Once you have 10 mana it is only a +4 mana boost (10, pay 3, double 7), and I prefer things like Gilded Lotus or Thran Dynamo that give me a steady bump regardless of the current gamestate. It feels too much like a win-more card to me.

Ah, that makes a lot of sense. Dunno how I missed the expedition map on your list. I was trolling magiccards.info for hours yesterday and was a bit out of it heh.

Hmm.. Maybe switch out Diabolic Tutor for Cruel Tutor or Diabolic Intent?
September 9, 2015 8:47 a.m.
The thing about Cruel Tutor is that it doesn't go to your hand directly. Grim Tutor would be a good replacement but it's a bit above my price range at the moment, haha.
I am thinking about Beseech the Queen though, but I'm not sure what to cut for it :(

If you put the alter in a perfect fit, normal sleeve and top loader I don't think anything can happen to it. Love the alter though, and I can tell you put alot of time into making this deck. I can appreciate that since i try to do the same with all my decks. (I only play edh.) +1 from me

Thanks! :) My friend made me Hearthstone style alters as well, so Im currently using those.
Ive got a few small updates coming and I'm very interested in trying out the new Ob Nixilis Reignited planeswalker. Unfortunately the new Drana, Liberator of Malakir is not very good for mono black control, but the uncharted realms story made me hope for a planeswalker version of her in the next set!

I was gonna suggest Bubbling Muck, but I see you're not running it on purpose. I think you should reconsider Ashes to Ashes, though. The fact that it's a 2 for 1 card, and exiles rather than destroys, makes it extremely powerful. On another note, have you tried Helldozer? He may be more casual oriented, but the effect is powerful and repeatable.

I've tried skullclamp a long time ago, back when Bloodghast was still in the deck, but because I have no real sac outlets or even a lot of creatures I don't really like it in here.
K34, you're absolutely right about Ashes to Ashes, but I just find the card too ugly. I'm hoping for a reprint in the commander decks next month with new art :)
I haven't tried Helldozer yet. It crossed my mind, and I might try it in the future. I just think it attracts a lot of hate instantly.

Hey man just want to say I'm new to commander and your deck looks like lots of fun so I hope you don't mind if I copy a lot of it. Also I was wondering if Living Death would be any good. Another card I wanted to know about was why is Ulamog, the Infinite Gyre in hear. I don't think he should be out or anything I just ligitmently want to know why he is so good in commander. Great Deck totally up vote!PS did you make that Drana in real life it hella cool

Walt-Wizard he's a 10/10 indestructible with annihilator 4 that can be cheated out or used as spot removal if need be
October 21, 2015 5:34 p.m.
Hey Walt-Wizard, thanks for the reply! Ulamog, the Infinite Gyre does not work very well together with getting stuff out of you rgraveyard (since he shuffles everything back in), but since he's indestructible he rarely hits the graveyard anyway (most of the time he gets exiled). Like xxSkedz24xx said, it's just a very solid win condition since it basically reads 'deal with me this turn or lose the game'. Plus it can also destroy an enchantment or artifact when it enters the battlefield, which is a huge deal in mono black.
Living Death doesn't work as well in this deck because for that to work you want your own graveyard to be stacked with creatures, and your opponents graveyard to have only a few. I'm kind of doing the opposite with this deck with all the boardwipes. A better option could be Rise of the Dark Realms!

Sorry if this has already been asked, ut what're your thoughts on Ulamog, the Ceaseless Hunger and also on Scour from Existence?
I personally like Unstable Obelisk for the same reason - ramp and removal in one card.
Also, is there a reason for not running Homeward Path?
October 22, 2015 10:52 a.m. Edited.
@ enpc: All of those cards are very solid and I'll try to explain why I don't run them.
Ulamog, the Ceaseless Hunger would be another win-con, and removing 2 permanents is definitely a good side effect. I just feel like I have plenty going on at the moment at the top end of the curve, but he could easily be included. It's on my things to consider list though!
Scour from Existence is also a great card but I basically have Karn Liberated for that slot (and Ugin to some extend). I think there's only so much high-cost removal that I should run. Also, the thing about Unstable Obelisk is that it stays on the board, so people will either remove it or play around it accordingly.
Homeward Path is not very efficient in my meta and since swamps matter a great deal in this deck because of all the doubling effects I'd rather not run it.

Would you consider playing Vedalken Orrery to help play around counter spells?
October 25, 2015 2:14 p.m.
That's a good suggestion, but fortunately I haven't really had any troubles yet in my meta with too much counter magic :)

Would you consider running Mana Vault for more mana ramp?

Not considering the Basalt Monolith + Rings of Brighthearth combo?
November 2, 2015 5:43 a.m.
About Mana Vault, I don't really have ways to untap it, so I'd rather include Mana Crypt some day when I got the money for it :)
The thing about Basalt Monolith is that it is not a very good card on it's own. It's better in control decks that do their stuff on an opponent's turn, so that you can do something with the leftover mana if needed. I don't really like to include a very sub-par card just for the combo that comes once in a while. I keep considering it though.

Have you considered Doubling Cube? With all your doubling effects it would be quite good.
