True that, but Night's Whisper is pretty hard to get foil I notice and Sign in Blood has a nice full art version.
I might just get both Sign in Blood and Read the Bones and see what I like more in that slot. I'm definitely going to test alternatives to Graveborn Muse now.

I have a monoblack deck and I found that Ulamog, the Ceaseless Hunger is a great card to exile pesky permanents. Also he adds another wincon via mill, I really think you should try.

I now officially own this deck as well lol I've been following you for some time and well I don't have the extensive foiling you do right now I love Drana to pieces and this deck is so efficient.

@ Casey4321 Haha thats cool to hear. I just checked your list, how are Myojin of Night's Reach and Kozilek, Butcher of Truth working out for you?
@ lil_cheez, I'm really debating about including the Ulamog, the Ceaseless Hunger. On one hand it's awesome removal for enchantments/artifacts. I actually lost a highly competitve game because I had no clear answers to enchantments ready (because the guy had a lot of counterspells), so Ulamog, the Ceaseless Hunger would've given some breathing room.On the other hand I'm not sure when I reach the critical mass of having just too many fatties. Like, if I include the new ulamog, then why not Kozilek, Butcher of Truth? And then it starts to drift away from a big part of the voltron aspect of the deck.

@Sc1zX : Honestly I really like Kozi. He's great. I like playing an oppression based secondary strategy (if the initial voltron attempt falls through.) Andy the deck becomes very aggressive. He's helpful in that scenario to keep the gas on. I've also dropped him turn 5 and seen a table concede. As for Myojin, she's had mixed results. I enjoy her specifically as a combo fisruptor. If I see pieces being assembled she's helpful for stopping or at least delaying going off. I gotta say though Horobi, Death's Wail is great!

Mmm I'm really tempted to try Kozilek. Running both eldrazi weakens the few recursions effects I have though. I'd have to really think about what to take out for him. Perhaps Graveborn Muse since she fills the carddraw role that Kozi could take over.
In other news, my Basalt Monolith should arrive tomorrow. Pretty excited for that one! Still in doubt if it should replace Worn Powerstone or Magus of the Coffers, but I'll figure it out :)

Hey sorry for popping in an out like this but have you considered Skittles? Your build isn't as voltron as mine but having an alternate creature to suit up is fun. I recently cut Gary out of my build and Skittles has already won me a game.
January 6, 2016 11:08 a.m.
Yeah I've considered him; he's actually one of the commanders in my playgroup at home. We upped the infect count to 15, so then he's not as effective I'm afraid.
I'm currently thinking about replacing Worn Powerstone with Beseech the Queen, or possibly Hedron Archive, because it's such a terrible topdeck and even on turn 3 it's only so-so. I mean I'd rather tutor for Cabal Coffers when I hit 3 mana than play that manarock.
January 7, 2016 12:39 a.m.
Beseech the Queen is awesomesauce. I'd go with that.
January 7, 2016 9:18 a.m.
It's a very good mana rock. But, if you replace it with Beseech the Queen...If you really needed to you could tutor for a mana rock. XD but yea it's good. I make use of it to pay for large equip costs.

Mmm yeah true.
Just found out that there is a GP nearby this weekend so gonna check that out, maybe I can score something like a Yawgmoth's Will there :)

Soooo I got a few new cards from GP Oakland...
January 8, 2016 6:51 p.m.
Currently planned updates involve taking out the Dark Depths/Vampire Hexmage combo. In multiplayer it makes me the enemy early game if I pull it off (which is not what this deck wants), and late game people have spot removal. Plus, tutoring for the combo is almost never worth it, I'd rather tutor for things like Cabal Coffers or Phyrexian Arena.
Probably going to add Maze of Ith and Night's Whisper instead of them, and try to run both Night's Whisper and Sign in Blood for a while.

Hey can I ask you a question? What's your thoughts on Essence Depleter ?I'm considering running it as another Exsanguinate effect.
January 19, 2016 12:52 p.m.
I don't think he'd be very good, because for every activation you would need a colorless mana. I think it'd be too hard to actually drain someone out. If the mana cost was XC then it'd be better I think.
January 19, 2016 2:10 p.m.
Doesn't Basalt Monolith Rings create infinite colorless mana?
January 19, 2016 2:24 p.m.
Yeah that's true, but that'd be the only way then to reliably get a lot of value from Essence Depleter!
I'm currently thinking about trying the new ulamog instead of kozilek for a few games, but he shot up in price so much :( So i think I'll just proxy him or just play with kozilek and see in each situation which I would've preferred

Also, would you mind taking a look at my mono-black budget vampire commander deck and letting me know what you think and any suggestions?

Would Tainted Strike be a good card to put in this deck?

If you're only ever going to use it on yourself, Night's Whisper is better than Sign in Blood, though for one extra mana, Read the Bones is a solid alternative.
You have to be very careful with Graveborn Muse, while the card advantage is nice, the life loss can be substantial. I'm personally a fan of Greed while provides good advantage which you have control over or Ob Nixilis Reignited which provides good utility as both a phyrexian arena (same as bloodgift) and packs a kill spell to boot.
