any jace planewalker, they do make you draw cards. Goblin SharpshooterMTG Card: Goblin Sharpshooter, with Basilisk CollarMTG Card: Basilisk Collar is very fun think about it. board removal is amazing with it.

Gorgeous. Just a minor addition here. You probably want to include Spell CrumpleMTG Card: Spell Crumple over say... Faerie TrickeryMTG Card: Faerie Trickery as tuck effects are amazing in EDH.

Have you considered Runeflare TrapMTG Card: Runeflare Trap?

@m12fox: Thanks for the Goblin SharpshooterMTG Card: Goblin Sharpshooter tip! As for PWs, I was thinking about adding Chandra AblazeMTG Card: Chandra Ablaze, as her ult could be massive damage and draw depending on my gy. Jace, Memory AdeptMTG Card: Jace, Memory Adept would be a welcome addition as he'll help me draw and dig at the same time. I doubt I'll be able to grab a Jace, the Mind SculptorMTG Card: Jace, the Mind Sculptor, but that would be mean.

@Bingbing: I have not considered Runeflare TrapMTG Card: Runeflare Trap, but that seems like it could be a good finisher. I'll also have to pick up another Spell CrumpleMTG Card: Spell Crumple. You're right, it's too damn good to leave out.

Many thanks to you both for your suggestions.

I wouldn't put in Chandra AblazeMTG Card: Chandra Ablaze seeing that you have very little red sorcery cards or instants. Time StretchMTG Card: Time Stretch would be fun.

Time StretchMTG Card: Time Stretch worked amazingly well when this was a Jhoira of the GhituMTG Card: Jhoira of the Ghitu deck. With Echo MageMTG Card: Echo Mage and Increasing VengeanceMTG Card: Increasing Vengeance, I'd constantly take extra turns. Due to the mana, though, would Time WarpMTG Card: Time Warp be a cheaper alternative or maybe with all the top decking and sorting, Temporal Mastery?

Really excited what toys AVCR will give my Grim and Niv decks. :)

Oh, and good call about Chandra! I'll leave her out and stuff this full of Jace.

If you do want to add a Chandra, I'd suggest Chandra, the FirebrandMTG Card: Chandra, the Firebrand, who has a great Fork effect that I'm sure your deck would love to abuse.

Temporal ManipulationMTG Card: Temporal Manipulation is a very strong card. I'd recommend putting it in, along with Jace, the Mind SculptorMTG Card: Jace, the Mind Sculptor ($$$ :'( ). The ability to stack manipulation on top of your deck to be the first card you draw is clutch. Also note that it doesn't have to be the first card you draw on your turn. Popping Niv's ability on an opponent's turn works too!

Oops. I didn't mean Temporal ManipulationMTG Card: Temporal Manipulation. Meant the newer Temporal MasteryMTG Card: Temporal Mastery but I'm sure you figured that out.

Hmm. I'm wary that your comments here are just becoming a stream of my consciousness.

If you wanted to spice up your Splinter TwinMTG Card: Splinter Twinning, I'd recommend dropping the golem and replacing it with either the Deceiver ExarchMTG Card: Deceiver Exarch as you said, or the arguably much more useful PestermiteMTG Card: Pestermite.

They allow you to do the same thing as the golem, but if you don't happen to have a Splinter TwinMTG Card: Splinter Twin around, you can still use them for flashy combat tricks so they shouldn't feel too much like dead draws.

You have all the components to the Consecrated SphinxMTG Card: Consecrated Sphinx + Psychosis CrawlerMTG Card: Psychosis Crawler + Time ReversalMTG Card: Time Reversal combo just wanted to make you aware of it because it wasn't mentioned in the description. (You draw 7 then 14 for each opponent pinging them all for the cards drawn.)

As for the deck it looks really solid the only thing I can really add is Venser's JournalMTG Card: Venser's Journal to help keep you and your massive hand in the game v.s. heavy hitters.

For creatures, you should run [Mulldrifter] and [riptide warrior] for a bit more draw and usage of Niv. Also, [Jin-gitaxias, Core Augur] would be broken.

OH OH! and get your hands on a Reforge the SoulMTG Card: Reforge the Soul, card is sick!

have you seen the new blue red miracles! they would be awesome in this deck. Thunderous WrathMTG Card: Thunderous Wrath Bonfire of the Damned MTG Card: Bonfire of the Damned for board removal. Devastation TideMTG Card: Devastation Tide VanishmentMTG Card: Vanishment for any pesky creatures (or tokens). Temporal MasteryMTG Card: Temporal Mastery is just stupid good. Do not mean to let you down, but when I was thinking about jace, it was for Jace, the Mind SculptorMTG Card: Jace, the Mind Sculptor. if you want to use the other jace's that is fine, mind screwer one is a _ though. Not for the pop, it was for the free brainstorm. Mystical TutorMTG Card: Mystical Tutor might be nice. the niv combo with curios is only until you run out of cards. to prevent you dying from that (drum roll) = Laboratory ManiacMTG Card: Laboratory Maniac.

May 9, 2012 8:46 p.m.

@Permafrost: Goblin SharpshooterMTG Card: Goblin Sharpshooter, Consecrated SphinxMTG Card: Consecrated Sphinx, Kozilek, Butcher of TruthMTG Card: Kozilek, Butcher of Truth, and Phyrexian MetamorphMTG Card: Phyrexian Metamorph are priority before Gin. Gin never lasts more than a turn at our table anyway, heh. As for Mulldrifter, maybe I could do Mimic VatMTG Card: Mimic Vat or Trusted AdvisorMTG Card: Trusted Advisor to keep those draws coming. Thanks.

@Ohthenoises: I'll definitely update with that combo, and I actually have a Venser's. I really need to update this list again! Thanks for the combo tip.

@m12fox: I can't wait to take advantage of some good Miracle cards! Bonfire is a bit pricey at the moment, but I don't think Thunderous would pay off in EDH unless I copy it a couple of times. I have a Laboratory ManiacMTG Card: Laboratory Maniac laying around, that might be helpful. And JTMS is way out of my budget range, but it would be sick! ;)

May 10, 2012 1:01 p.m.

Also, Temporal MasteryMTG Card: Temporal Mastery would be great, but I'm still waiting on more of a price drop! From $30 to $18 is maybe a week? If it hovers around $10 consistently, I'll definitely pull the trigger.

May 10, 2012 1:03 p.m.

miracleHat says... #20

okay then, sorry. It is also out of my price range but ... Kiki-Jiki, Mirror BreakerMTG Card: Kiki-Jiki, Mirror Breaker with PestermiteMTG Card: Pestermite would be a great addition. seeing that you are running niv, you buddies shouldn't mind that combo to much.

May 10, 2012 1:09 p.m.

@Permafrost: Oh, I do have a Whirlpool WarriorMTG Card: Whirlpool Warrior in here. I'll have to spend some time refreshing this list, a lot has changed.

May 10, 2012 1:10 p.m.

@m12fox: Kiki would be fun, I'm curious if I should double up on possible as a backup combo of Splinter TwinMTG Card: Splinter Twin. I could add both PestermiteMTG Card: Pestermite, Deceiver ExarchMTG Card: Deceiver Exarch, and even Battered GolemMTG Card: Battered Golem for more combo goodness. :3

Actually if Psychosis CrawlerMTG Card: Psychosis Crawler is out each opponent will take damage equal to the cards YOU draw (he says "each opponent"). His doesn't target like Niv's does, this means that no matter the size of the playgroup you only need draw 2 for 1 for three people. 7 (for you) + 14 (op #1) + 14 (op #2) +14 (op #3) is 49 damage for everyone. Niv is a different story however.

Ohthenoises says... #24

Also, it's not limited to Time ReversalMTG Card: Time Reversal you can do it with ANY of your draw spells that make everyone draw. (Jace's ArchivistMTG Card: Jace's Archivist.)
