Thanks for the update. I had Crawler effect listed backwards in my primer. I might add in Mindmoil for Crawler, too.

I think that you might like Otherworld Atlas . put a ton of counters on it get niv out and say HELLO!!!

I see what you mean when you changed the deck. I know that there aren't to many creatures in this deck, although Psychosis Crawler is very useful in every niv deck. i still like it!

I updated my thoughts on Crawler deck:drawing-flames/deck-update/9067! tl;dr: Feels win-more while generating a lot of unnecessary attention. He gets popped or I get smoked in response.

Okay, I've added Psychosis Crawler back into the mix. I haven't tried using him with the overhaul, but this could be wildly different. However, him being a dead draw for much of the game is still a concern. Removed Barbed Shocker .

good choice (sorry, I didn't see a need for it in the deck). I see your concern with him, but he does nasty things in 4-6 player games. when it comes out I do suggest Void Stalker , it deals with nasty generals like rafiq and kaalia etc. Quick question, what happens when somebody is a jerk and shuffles niv into your library? you might want some (if there is any) creature tutors, (unless I missed some).

Ethereal Usher is a Transmute tutor for six, which allows me to grab either Niv or Consecrated Sphinx .

Worldfire would be perfect because: 1. who would expect it. 2. everybody has probably drawn/played over half of their good stuff. did you change the formatting of the primer, and are you for niv to come out in new ravnica.

Niv in RTR is probably going to be a planeswalker, but I'm definitely picking up the new Niv in Izzet vs. Golgari Duel Deck!

Worldfire just doesn't work unless I can protect Niv from the exile to do the one damage next turn, as I won't be getting him back out in any other way. It's too risky and I don't think I'd be able to recover from exiling everything, especially all my land/rocks/enchants/etc.

As soon as my preorder comes in the mail (stupid parcel post!), I'll give Electromancer a shot, and Izzet Charm , Izzet Guildmage , the new Niv-Mizzet, Dracogenius . With those, I might toss in Mana Flare and/or Palinchron for infinite mana to wipe the table with the new Niv or at least copy a spell a couple of times with the Guildmage. Excited for RTR!

are you sure about the new niv, I my opinion, he kind of sucks. Mana Flare would be really nice. I understand that the deck is supposed to not have more than five creatures, but what happened to Whirlpool Warrior ? one of the people in my play group made a niv deck and drew 70 cards during one turn via Whirlpool Warrior . i gures that it is your deck after all.

I've had Whirlpool Warrior in and out of this deck constantly for months now. He's nice, but for some reason, he's the first thing that gets the axe when switching things around. I'll try him again with these new changes, it was nice to have Winds of Change on a stick.

Sturmgeist and Laboratory Maniac might be good in here, but they might just be bad / not fun, I'm not sure. I like your decks though.

Also, Intruder Alarm is a great way to keep the cards coming from Niv when opponents play creatures. Hope this helps

Memory Jar was a little slow, but you're right, I should give it another shot. The problem before with Memory Jar is that I would have to wait until the next turn for the mana. However, Time Reversal is the same concept, so I'll give it another shot.

As for Intruder Alarm , it's slow and often backfires. While that's still out, Kiki-Jiki will go insane/infinite, among many generals I see that tap to do something way more efficient than ping for one, like Arcum Dagsson.

I thought Niv-Mizzet, the Firemind would be a cool general to build around so I've been looking at various Niv-mizzet decks, and I must say, yours seems to be the best one I've come across by far. I especially like how your able to explain how the various cards function in the deck, it makes it a lot easier to follow the whole deck list and understand how/why you might have chose other cards you didn't specifically mention. +1 and CONGRATS! If you get an opportunity could you take a look at mine? I'm newer to EDH and this is my first deck I've built entirely from scratch. izzet is or izzet ain't I'm sure there is probably some obvious things that I missed.
