If you are running Mox Opal you might want more artifacts. the artifact lands are a good start Vault of Whispers, Great Furnace, and Seat of the Synod.

Weirdhat I do like the idea of using them as they can also be fetched by Tezzeret the Seeker but I don't know what to take out as I'm not crazy about taking out anymore basics

How about Chandra Ablaze and Nicol Bolas, Planeswalker?? Pretty good card draw and control.

And no maximum hand size like Thought Vessel, Reliquary Tower and Venser's Journal.

Spiteful Visions does damage to everyone, is it too risky for you?

Mindcrank and Sphinx's Tutelage mills out decks, and they work great with Bloodchief Ascension on the board, as it most likely will kill all your opponents.

Kederekt Parasite is a one cost drop, and Nin, the Pain Artist works great with Nekusar on the field.

And how do you deal with people just straight up targeting you from the get-go? Nekusar is pretty hated, so if everyone just starts attacking you, what defenses do you have? As most of your cards are just draw, discard, and damage thru card draw effects.

tendouji Chandra just doesn't do enough for me and as much as I love Nicol Bolas he's too slow.

Having no maximum hand size really isn't worth the deck space. (additionally I took out Reliquary Tower to make room for fetches)

Spiteful Visions wouldn't be the worst to reconsider I just don't like how much a nonmbo it is with Curiosity, Ophidian Eye, and Consecrated Sphinx.

Mindcrank and Sphinx's Tutelage are alright cards, but on their own they don't really do much on their own and could do more harm than good.

I used to use Nin and Kederekt, but Nin would always be too much of an investment as for Kederekt Parasite it's a bit too fragile

What's your take on Corrupted Conscience??

And I feel Fate Unraveler is better than Spiteful Visions just because it won't backfire on you.

January 18, 2016 9:24 p.m.

But Spiteful Visions makes everyone draw extra cards.

I was just testing Visions but it comes with the same issue Howling Mine and the like do

As for Corrupted Conscience it's a decent card for a different deck, but it's a bit of theme and as an infect source it's too slow

I think more counters would be better to protect nekusar once he hits the field. Use ones that draws cards like Arcane Denial, Dismiss, Exclude, Disrupt, etc.

Has playing No Mercy into an opposing Clever Impersonator ever gotten you? I don't particularly like the thought of that line of play, myself. Concurrently, have you ever thought about the Impersonator for yourself, or Sakashima the Impostor? Things to think about.

I really like your list, though. This helped give me a lot of ideas for my own Nekusar list. +1~

McMayhem Well it has yet to happen, but I do my best to hold a counterspell for Nekusar hate such the aforementioned and stuff like Urza's Armor.

I've considered Sakashima now and again, but I never can figure out what I'd want to take out.

Thanks for the upvote

I pray I never go against you in EDH, I main Zedruu control. why not run Seizan, Perverter of Truth, Psychosis Crawler or Anvil of Bogardan? maybe Minds Aglow would be good too. (Here is my Nekusar deck if you'd like to take a look: Nekusar's Royal Library)

Trtl For me Seizan, Perverter of Truth, and Anvil of Bogardan provide too much advantage to my opponents, because they get the cards on their turn. As for Psychosis Crawler I decided to take it out because it was a bit to slow, and the lose life instead of damage makes it a nonbo with Curiosity. Minds Aglow (and Prosperity) may be worth considering as a late game sink.

I run a legacy version of this deck, cause typically the commander versions are really boring, but this one is sweet. I would definitely suggest both Spiteful Visions and Phyrexian Tyranny. Although they're symmetrical and damage you, too, they put an awesome clock on the game to burn your opponent to the ground. All you have to do is make sure you're ahead first, like with burn and Eidolon of the Great Revel. Another suggestion is even though you might not like the advantage the opponent gets, Font of Mythos giving you three cards is usually enough to end the game, or giving them three when you have your pain cards out.

Would you consider the new Chandra? She wheels, wraths, and beats, but idk...

Chandra, Flamecaller

SlappyBob Spiteful Visions and Phyrexian Tyranny unfortunately don't appeal to me because I'm hit as well and I usually pay a good amount of life so it'd be hard to get ahead before they become "win more" anyway (plus Spiteful Visions has the same problem as Howling Mine)

Maringam Unfortunately the wheel is one sided otherwise I probably would

May I ask if you have considered Tainted AEther? I don't know what your playgroup is like, but it might be a good card if you are looking to deal with pesky sliver, elf, token and other creature related decks. If you think that Taint might work, then I can suggest something to get rid of.

Great deck, btw. +1 from me

trinitok I do like Tainted AEther as a card but it's problem is if they play their big bad or something they could just pitch a basic.

Do you actually own this deck? Because if not you are stupid for making everything foil and fancy.

April 13, 2016 7:29 p.m.

jwe94 says... #23

@Grunyarth Firstly these are the editions and printings I have in the real deck and secondly evenot if they weren't it is entirely up to the user's discretion to list the cards the way they want so calm down.

How about including Forgotten Creation? Although as of the moment, I'm unsure as to what would be taken out in its place. I will give that some more thought likely.

Have you considered Dark Petition? It finds and casts many spells in your deck (Necropotence, Underworld Dreams, Dark Deal, Toxic Deluge) on its own. I would personally replace Winds of Change or Library of Leng with Dark Petition.
