For my recommendation to take out for "leyline of anticipation", i really can't decide on which.. maybe any of the following:

"yawgmoth's will" due to mana depletion? Not sure..Without "waste not" on play, i feel this is useless..need mana to cast a wheel or something..

"Phyerexian arena" and "necropotence" due to too much loss of life, and wasted chance, i guess? Necropotence, it does not work well with "library of leng". Any card discarded from hand either to your library or to your graveyard is automatically removed from the game by necropotence.

In an average, on your 5 to 7 turns, you would be able to put in your hand the set-ups you need by tutoring or fetching, but by that time, you have taken a toll of damage from opponents as well as your fastlands. So i think the loss of life from "phyrexian arena" and "necropotence" would not be very beneficial to you.

Also, i use "venser's journal" and "ivory tower" to survive while tutoring and fetching..then when i have the cards i need, i cast "cyclonic rift" or "vandalblast" then an "epicenter". Then next turn, i do my 1 turn combo-win.

If you are going to name cards please link them. Its easy, all you gotta do is put double brackets on either side of the card name, no spaces.

[ [ Vandalblast ] ] with no spaces becomes Vandalblast.

I take back my suggestion on [necropotence]. It is very useful in making sure-chain-combo of wheels. But i guess you already knew that. upvote 10x! But i really suggest [leyline of anticipation] to be in this deck. Casting your pains before the end of turn then wheeling on your turn would definitely finish the job.

thecakeisalie42 I'm not sure if Past in Flames is a fit for this deck or not, Humble Defector just doesn't make enough of an impact for this deck, and Pongify (as well as Rapid Hybridization) is already in the maybe board.

HowlingFoxGPH I do like Leyline of Anticipation I just never really can figure what to take out (maybe Sigil of Sleep). I agree Burning Inquiry has potential to be a nice finisher but it's hard to justify the card slot. Yawgmoth's Will provides value to the point it will probably only ever come out if it's banned. You obviously just commented on Necropotence so I won't necessarily address that but rather mention Library of Leng both gives you unlimited hand size (helpful but more so gravy) getting around discarding at the cleanup step and more importantly creates a replacement effect that would entirely bypass Necropotence's exile effect.

Have you ever considered or used the Teferi's Puzzle Box and Notion Thief combo?

If you are playing multi with 5 and above players, at the beginning of your turn, your opponents hands are all discarded and you have 20+ cards in your hand. no more interuptions when you cast your finish. If the 20+ cards in your hand wont do the job, hopefully, when Teferi's Puzzle Box ,take's it effect, you have more options.

So, the main question I'd ask is are you really trying to be competitive with this build or are you wanting to have fun with some friends? Because if you're trying to have fun with it I'd say you should take another look at the players when you next use this and see what their reactions are to certain types of spells. My group for instance has a wide range of deck tiers, but especially hates on non-bo, slow the game to a crawl type cards. Hence my real inspiration for one of my Xenagos builds that runs Overabundance type effects that encourage finishing games over stalling them out.

If you're trying to be competitive though, what would you say the deck is missing or is maybe consistently bad at dealing with? By example I've seen a lot of comments on Oloro type decks, but I would think that simply running Erebos, God of the Dead or similar cards would solve that problem immediately. Let alone the addition of infect win cons.

Have you ever considered replacing Niv-Mizzet, the Firemind with Quicksilver Dagger ? It has lower casting cost, however, it can't target creatures. I use Lightning Greaves on kederekt or fate unraveler when they have the dagger, to force my opponents to cast their bombs, then i take out nekusar for safe finish. Maybe replace Helm of the Ghastlord for greaves?

I +1'd this deck A year or two ago, but I still love it. Props for continuously updating it!

I actually love this deck so much I'm trying to copy it with a little of my own variations. As far as money cards go, I'm not that rich XD.

Subs for some of the expensive stuff ideas?

HowlingFoxGPH Teferi's Puzzle Box used to be in the deck but it's a bit slow and unstable and Notion Thief is kind of a nonbo with Nekusar because even though you steal cards you you pretty much lose Nekusar's damage. Quicksilver Dagger doesn't really do a lot and there's not really enough creatures to make use of Lightning Greaves

TheRedGoat This is pretty much my competitive commander deck and Erebos, God of the Dead is a little slow for what it does and infect is just an overall better answer in my opinion

@jwe94 Cards that I can likely not afford include Underground Sea, Volcanic Island, Badlands, Force of Will, Scalding Tarn, Verdant Catacombs, Time Spiral, and Wheel of Fortune.

I'm in the process of reviewing the cards here and in my deck (clearly yours have seen more playtesting, your opinions are pretty solid). When I order cards next I don't want to order anything 50 dollars or over.

I noticed most of the cards are those dang double lands. Tango lands for replacements? I know that the Island/Swamp/Mountain sub-type is necessary.

SphinxOfChimes1080 Maybe you could go with pain lands instead of ABUR duals (Underground River, Shivan Reef, and Sulfurous Springs) as for the fetches they'd still make your deck better overall but they really shine in the 3-9-3 set up (they're a bit janky but maybe use Bad River and Rocky Tar Pit). For Force of Will I'd kind of suggest just picking your favorite counterspell (or if you've really got to have the "free card" Commandeer), and as for the wheels you could do Wheel of Fate instead of Wheel of Fortune and Time Reversal instead of Time Spiral

ShadyPear Usually if I'm not using it as a counter it becomes Glistening Oil/Phyresis or if need be it can be Cyclonic Rift/Unsubstantiate when you need an answer to something already out

So if I'm not running poison in my list it's probably not going to be of much use. Yeah I figured as much since no wheels or pain effects besides Liliana's Caress cost 2 or less.

I have another suggestion. Been a while! Thoughts on Paradox Engine. It has been very kind to me. Haha! I would suggest taking out Ophidian Eye or Dack Fayden.

I think you might want the new Archfiend of Ifnir for this.

Delta-117 Archfiend of Ifnir is a little on the slow side but it's good. I am excited by the prospect of similar cards though

Why are you not using Temple Bell? You already run Mind Over Matter and it has given me a fair amount of games. I want to know your opinion if possible!

tNag552 Temple Bell runs the risk of giving them an answer but I might throw it back in considering you can just respond by doing it again

What do you think of Commit / Memory as an additional wheel? I've been considering it for my own Nekusar deck to serve as an additional counter, on top of the extra wheel and graveyard shuffle after I use it/wheel it away.

Podma101 Thanks for the reminder on Commit / Memory I meant to throw it in the maybeboard asap but kind of forgot. I think it has some strong potential for the same reasons you said and is probably going into the deck, I just need to brood over it (as well as Insult / Injury and As Foretold)

Oooo, I missed Insult / Injury, I'll need to consider that too. As Foretold I'm iffy on. I know it's bonkers powerful, but I feel like I'd draw so much hate before it's really online that it would do more harm then good.

What is your overall opinion on Hive Mind? Not necessarily for your deck, just in general. I have it in mine in hopes to drop it as a finisher, but haven't had many opportunities to play the deck let alone get it out.
