Such a cool deck! I don't really like infinites, but this is pretty amusing :D

Why are you playing Walking Ballista? It cannot be chorded or coco'ed for, why not play Rhonas the Indomitable?

Hi MrSableye! To answer your question, you are right that Walking Ballista cannot be cast with Collected Company. That is not the point of CoCo though- It is meant to get creatures after a removal spell, as well as to get your combo and value creatures out to pressure your opponent. As for Chord of Calling... Here are the Judge rules:

7/18/2014 : When using convoke to cast a spell with X in its mana cost, first choose the value for X. That choice, plus any cost increases or decreases, will determine the spells total cost. Then you can tap creatures you control to help pay that cost. For example, if you cast Chord of Calling (a spell with convoke and mana cost XGGG) and choose X to be 3, the total cost is 3GGG. If you tap two green creatures and two red creatures, youll have to pay 1G.

So... To be blunt, Walking Ballista's X cost is whatever Chord of Calling was cast for. You got infinite mana. You should get your full use out of it! :)

As for Rhonas the Indomitable, it is a very good value creature, but doesn't hold a good enough synergy to be considered in the deck.

Accept my apologies and ignore my comment, MrSableye! I did some further investigation and turns out you were right! The program I was using allowed for it to work, which is why I assumed so. If that is the case, the deck will have to undergo some renovations. Thank you for pointing out the flaw! :)

As to explain where I was wrong, when Chord of Calling is cast, it's X cost is different from another cards X cost. So, algebraically, Chord's cost is X1 and Walking Ballista's cost is X2. That means X2 will be equal to 0, as you are not given the opportunity to pay for it.

The idea of Rhonas the Indomitable is that you can chord for it and pay infinite mana or just a ton of mana to deal infinite damage. The damage cannot be done at instant speed but IMO it feels more tool-boxy than ballista.

I do explain the pro's and con's of each in the Primer.
