"The woods have grown quiet. The wind has ceased whistling through the trees. the birds no longer sing. The wolves have stopped howling. A shadow is growing over this land. It's time you took up your fathers mantle; it's time you took up the Druid's Vigil."My take on user mymanpotsandpans Helix Pinnacle deck.

Suggestions welcome!

Win conditions come in the form of either Assault Formation or Helix Pinnacle. The x4 Genesis Wave in the deck are meant to help you get more defenders and either of the two wincon cards on to the field. If you have none of those cards in your hand, pray your walls hold up until you do. Additionally, x3 Sheltering Word should also help keep your defenders safe from removal, while also providing you with substantial health boosts thanks to the toughness-heavy nature of the creatures the deck plays.

The main source of Mana generation comes from your x4 Axebane Guardian and the x4 Overgrown Battlement. The more defenders you have on the board, the more mana they will each generate.

Umbral Mantle allows for some very fun infinite combos. Equip it to either mana dork, and assuming you have 3 other defenders on the battlefield, you will generate enough mana each time you tap one of the mana dorks to pay the untap cost and generate 1 net mana. Because it also gives +2/+2 each time you untap, your mana dork will have infinite power and toughness as well. For infinite life, play a Sheltering Word on your infinite toughness mana dork. Assuming you have either of the wincon cards on the field, you'll most likely be able to win in a single turn: You will be able to get your 100 tower counters on Helix Pinnacle, and you will be able to attack with an onslaught of infinite toughness walls with Assault Formation. The deck's effectiveness doesn't hinge on your ability to get the infinite combos rolling, but it certainly makes things a lot more silly in a casual environment.

Having played the deck extensively over the past couple weeks, I can confidently say that it is an absolute blast to play!

UPDATE: I have added 2 additional Genesis Waves to the deck and taken out a single copy of the two wincon cards, Assault Formation and Helix Pinnacle. With 4 copies of both in the deck, I found myself consistently drawing more of them than necessary in any given match, basically turning it into a dead draw. With the addition of 2 more Genesis Waves, the deck will be able to reach its game-winning end state much quicker and more consistently.
