So I took this deck for a spin last night against U/W Spirits, man handled that one. Took on a R/W/G Nahiri into Dragonlord Atarka and did okay. Lost in 3. Got mana hosed. Was holding on with 5 lands, but was never able to turn the corner. Have you thought about adding any burn spells. Incidenary Flow, Lightning Axe, Fiery Temper, stuff that is either to creature or their dome. Kill an attacking creature then 3 to their dome. Maybe even sideboard options. The synergy with a flipped Jace or even a Dark Dewellers sounds good. Great deck, smooth mana, really diggin' it.

Awesome kickerv, great to hear! About burn spells, valid pondering. I was so excited when I saw Incendiary Flow...then I realized it wasn't an instant...Burn is pretty weak against the current meta, black kill spells are just better. In what instance would we rather have Flow or Temper? Except for helping us going to the dome, Grasp and Murder are way more efficient, and in the current build we are not trying to race whatsoever; we are rather looking to stabilize the board and have our opponent in top-deck mode, after that it's pretty much a sure win for us.
Really hoping for decent burn spells in Kaladesh though...because being able to kill something when needed or just send to the face if not needed is the jackpot. I could perhaps see the argument for a few tempers though, maybe try 'em out and let us know!

I only have one Liliana, the Last Hope at the moment, what do you think would best replace her, I was thinking Ob Nixilis Reignited but I'm not sure because replacing three drops with five drops might mess up the curve.
Also I only have three Jace, Vryn's Prodigy Flip and don't really care for Ultimate Price, and one my most favorite things in magic is random discard, so I put in two Whispers of Emrakul and they have been working fantastic so far.

Awesome, definitely some disruption to replace expensive pieces are not wasted slots. Otherwise I would say more removal is a sure bet, you cant really wrong with a singleton Ultimate Price but sure its not needed by any means I guess. Personally Id probably rather run an extra Epiphany to replace the 4th Jace if I were you. Cheers!

I will give the burn aspect a go Wednesday night and see how it fits.

Well for what it's worth we do have a few discard outlets for Tempers with Jace, Chandra and Sanitarium.

I noticed the deck has a very hard time with Blulamog, can we do anything about that or is that just our bad matchup?

Summary Dismissal, Transgress the Mind, Imprisoned in the Moon, Oath of Liliana, To the Slaughter.
You definitely want all those against it, but yes it is not a good matchup. It reminds me of the Tron matchup in Modern (where I also play Grixis control). Basically this is the only matchup where we kind of want to race. I also like Ruinous Path in it as it gives us a chance to make an extra 4/4...not ideal but you gotta do what you gotta do!...if ramp becomes too prevalent, we could up the Summary count but I do not think we will see it so much, Bant CoCo is the real enemy and we can't afford to lose (too much) to it.

I decided to test out an emrakul in the deck (I took out a kalitas) and it was amazing, everytime I played it I won.

Haha sick man, I started testing with 2 of them, than 1, now 0 because it never came up that I could cast it, and seemed like Kalitas was always preferable. Hmm....but interesting!

I'm somewhat shocked to see Contraband Kingpin in your sideboard. Every time I've ever suggested creatures to control players to stymie early threats and buy time with tactical advantage, I have received responses that that "isn't what control decks do" or that "removal just does it anyway so I don't want to waste cards on it." Kudos to you for considering it. ;)
While that one in particular would do little to trade for creatures, I can see it stalling fairly well. It got me thinking that, while Eternal Scourge can be a painful slap in the face to control players unless you get off a lucky forced sacrifice effect like Oath of Liliana, it might also be a decent option for control to use in the same scenario. Against a good few decks, there might not be truly threatening turn 3 creature, but it may still be a nuisance. Perhaps the colorless removal-dodging sucker could hold them off and dodge their removal, buying who knows how many turns and coming back any time you have spare mana. To the best of my knowledge, it will out-power most early game drops except for a stray Lathnu Hellion. Thoughts?

Edit: Maybeboard, not sideboard. My bad. I think Noxious Gearhulk will swing a fair few games far into your favor if you run it, so I think I'll go on a limb to suggest pulling it out of the maybeboard.

NotSquishedYet Thx for your input!
Kingpin is my sideboard because all the knobs on it seem perfectly tuned. If and only if aggro is so prevalent and strong that we are losing too much to it, we could definitely dedicate 3-4 slots to it in the side. I love the 2CMC, I don't think a defensive with CMC cost higher than that would be worth it, which is why I don't think Scourge is a good option (more on that below). I love the 4 toughness since our main sweeper is Flames. The lifelink is a very nice added bonus. The scry 1 is another bonus on top of everything else I just mentioned...so yeah! Really cool card, and easily deserves its current place in our maybeboard for these prelim times!
Scourge. I had considered it when it came out, but I quickly dismissed it because the main goal of our Cruel Control deck is always to grind opponent's down to 0. After that whichever threat we have will finish the job. What is awesome about our current 9 combat dudes is that they all do something really powerful on top of being the eventual beaters that will close out the games, so Scourge looks really lame compared to them. If we need early defense, Kingping will take that spot.
Noxious Hulk is pretty much only there for.....drumroll.....BRISELA dat bitch!!!! Currently that is the sole purpose that Ob is serving in the side, but I do think that gaining 10 life in the process and leaving a Menace 5 power beater in the process will surely have its perks as you can imagine!! Now I just want to see if enough people will still run Brisela or not. If they are, Noxious is taking Ob's place. Anyway I see it, Ob is out.

Have you considered a build using Dynavolt Tower? That card screamed grixis to me but I havent got around to testing it.

Hey wuddup DarkAngel367, thx man, been playing it for the past 2 weeks, pretty tightly adjusted now, do try it out!
I started testing with 2 Emras main, then 1 main 1 side, then 1 main only...it just rarely mattered and Kalitas was always a much better play so I made the full switch, Im loving these 2 main Kalitas now, not many decks have an instant immediate answer for it.
