DarkAngel367 Haha (amicable facepalm)!! lol :P - I understand that owning a Modern deck in paper is no casual investement! Awesome that you got to put a deck together and go! Do you have the list by any chance? I love Slivers in EDH! :D (I'm also a HUGE EDH player btw, if you haven't already you can dig in my decks, I almost got 50 now!)
Vampire_Lord Maybe don't take so many xannies before the tourney next time!! Haha jk, but that was some painful-ass reading there buddy!! :P All jokes aside, it requires much practice to really play accurately (I still make mistakes, especially early game land dropping! You gotta know when to drop those tapped lands!!) Better luck next time man!! Practice practice practice, don't give up!!

Snake Decks (+1+1 counters): Ruinous Path, Yahenni's Expertise, Thing in the Ice Flip
Aetherworks: Baral, Chief of Compliance, Ceremonious Rejection
Energy Control: Baral, Chief of Compliance, Ceremonious Rejection

@Vampire_Lord It is a really good card. Just not needed in this deck.

Do you think a dynavolt tower control deck could work?

DarkAngel367 says... #13
Yes, you could even reform this deck to be a dynavolt tower control deck.

I have had a lot of practice vs GB Counters, and Mardu Vehicles
Though I changed -2 Wandering Fumarole for +2 Spirebluff Canal. There have been too many starting hands of the RB/UB tap lands + Wandering Fumarole that set me to play about a turn behind, and against the aggressive decks its a death sentence.
How useful is the 1/4 / 4/1 body for you guys? I havent been able to make much use of it and drawing it for the early drops always hurts.

Personally I've never had a problem with it early. The 1/4 and 4/1 body has saved me on numerous occasions.

Demonblood502 I have to agree with 367 here, I tried 3 copies first but that was too much. I've been really happy with the 2 copies. They have helped grind out quite a few games. Or sometimes something like EOT kill the Gideon token and swing at him for 4 the next turn for example.
Probably a coincidence man, if you think of the odds, you're not suppose to early-draw a 2-of of any card too often! ;)

Daaaamn, have you guys seen the Blue God? A 5/7 flying indestructible that can attack/block if we have 7+ cards in hand but for activated 3U we get to draw a card and MAY return a land if we want. Returning those cycling lands will be huge, and this mean that we'll be able to easily swing at 5 cards in hand.
Pretty decent! Almost certainly will be testing with it right away.

@EastsideRockIt's a 5/5 and I believe it's you return a land then you may draw a card

You are right about the 5/5 but according to reddit peeps, it is really draw + may bounce land!

If one would be to put this card in a classic control shell, it would probably be as a special tool against certain decks. I could see it for example as a 1 or 2-of in the side against big fatty midrange decks (if they are a big problem), or in the current standard maybe against the Colossus deck for example.
Other than that if you want to build around and still keep it control, I could see it in a U/R Tower shell, you just need a lot of burn to make it efficient I think. Let's be honest, it's probably going to shine the most in a mono-red dedicated burn deck.
Very strong card though, I do like it a lot! But highly doubt it's going to be part of our Grixis Control core.

Sphinx of the Final Word is very good in Sideboard, especially against people who are running tower decks. Have you considered it?

Chocomycocoa Thx for your input. Yes I did, he was in the Maybeboard for a good while but it turns out that I needed other tools more than him, he got real close to making the cut, maybe in the next format!?
