I smell an increase in the number of Grixis Control variants here.

All those great one-drop spells with Thing in The Ice would have been ridiculous haha!

As I just posted on Reddit:
As a Grixis control player this is going to suck big time to get rid of without losing too much value... There are very few removal spell options that are going to do effectively the job without opponent getting the token. Spending 3CMC for Disintegration or 2CMC at Sorcery speed for Walk The Plank to kill a 2CMC 1/1 is going to feel pretty bad!...
Plus all our sweepers are red and damage-based...and all -x/-x effects are rotating out like Grasp and Flaying Tendrils.WOTC DAMNATION STANDARD REPRINT OR BAN THIS FUCKER!! (lol)
hmmm....matter of fact, I might just run those myself, provides excellent defense and stalling for 2CMC!! :D

So I'm gonna hate myself for this cause I'm definitely going to play naya dino no matter what, but I'm pretty sure Soul-Scar Mage "Turns off" Engrage.

It certainly does. Damage turns into the equivalent number of -1/-1 counters....

wow true, although for Grixis Control I don't really foresee running any copies of the Mage :( - what we would really need is a replacement to Flaying Tendrils (which I never ran since Suns and Radiant Flames before that were just better for 3 CMC...). I just foresee a lot of those damn things be everywhere...4/4 worth of value split up into two game states for 2 CMC seems so powerful...

Jesus Christ, basically all the Enrage creatures just spoiled will be a problem...at this point I'd be stunned if Black didn't get a good answer for those....

Actually Fatal Push seems the best choice if the Hatchling becomes to much of a problem. I see a lot of cards are netting us those saccing treasures too + the transforma cards, so we might just be able to turn on Revolt more effectively in this meta.

One of the cards I'm going to miss most is To the Slaughter...that card has saved me more times I can count against Hydras and Gods...Now even more so with Enrage abilities.

Dude for sure, me too + VS planeswalkers, the fact that it was recastable both from GDD and Hulk...The fact that you could sometime kill Creature AND PW....well seems like Doomfall will replace those slots, I'm just bummed that we are losing GDD though.

How do we beat carnage tyrant? I was thinking harsh scrutiny or doomfall?

Vampire_Lord Carnage Tyrant is gonna suck big time. Indeed sac effects like Doomfall, Trial of Ambition, or the new crazy red 7-CMC board wipe. Another less likely way is mass-bounce + hand hate...Harsh Scrutiny might come in handy indeed.

Ahh I can't see the picture, what is it?
Btw I reckon its gonna be best to use discard spells for Carnage Tyrant or boardwipes like Bontu's Last Reckoning. Im not sure how good the sacrifice cards will be, but I hope it will good enough.
September 7, 2017 6:50 p.m.
EastsideRock says... #17
Yeah, forgot about Bontu's, we might have to run some :(
The card is ''Chart a Course'' Sorcery for 1U: draw 2 cards. Discard one unless u attacked.

Yahenni's Expertise Is an alternative board wipe that also doesn't do damage to creatures. Being able to cast any card with CMC 3 or less without paying it's Mana cost is an additional bonus.
September 8, 2017 4:48 a.m.
LordNahkiin says... #19
Yeah Yahenni's Expertise is good since it doesn't trigger enrage. But is it better to kill all the creatures a turn earlier with Sweltering Suns and trigger enrage, or wait another turn to cast Yahenni's Expertise, while not triggering enrage and possibly casting a 3 or less cmc card. I'm not sure, Sweltering Suns is best against the majority of decks except Dino's, so maybe use Yahenni's Expertise in the sideboard?
Btw while testing Ixalan cards I have found Yahenni's Expertiseing into a Bloodcrazed Paladin to be very helpful in some games :3. Only problem is that it can die pretty easily, with Fatal Push and such.

Aaaaah yeah Expertise, it's been so long since I cast a copy of that that I kind of had forgotten about it lol...I'll add to maybe just in case...(also good VS Raptor Hatching)

I would be pretty stoked to be running a few transform cards because that would make Push a lot more playable in our build!

soooo....I just noticed this 100% Competitive meter under the mana-curve of my deck stats. Is that a new Tapped Out thing? Is it accurate? What does it base itself on? Hmmm....I'm flattered? lol...

Don't be. My decks are competitive according to this, and I suck.
